2.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 taphandle (987) - Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2011
Bottled in 1997. Dark, no carbonation. Tons of smoke aroma. Taste is fairly thin, but with smoke and malt in there. Obviously too old, but it got hidden away years ago and I wanted to give it a try. Not fair to rate it here (especially since I don’t care for smoked beers) but thought it would be interested to post the tasting here so it’s so old.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Brandman (969) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 13, 2011
Dark mahogany body, tane head. Aroma of sugar and smoked ham. Flavour is very small. There is only the smoked ham. Some bitterness. Dull.

16th January 2008 Sweetish amber beer. Trace of caramel. Dominated by a reasonably mellow smoke. Also has a medicinal note. Mellow smoke but too much of it.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 chicowv (221) - , West Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2010
22 oz bottle: Pours a dark golden copper with a nice white head. Aroma is not too distinct, malty, slightly smoked. Taste is a nice smooth brown ale with a nice smokey aftertaste. Smooth and easy to drink, would pair well with many foods.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Svesse (4215) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - OCT 30, 2010
(Bottle) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, smokey nose with notes of beechwood smoke, caramel, dried fruit, raisins, dried apricots, smoked ham and hints of orange peel. Malty, smokey taste with caramel, smoke, dried fruit, orange peel and a decent citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. Mainly dry. Excellent balance. Smoke is more prominent in the aroma than in the taste, but there’s some smoked ham there as well. Very nice beer.
