Bottle. Cloudy, dark brown color with a medium-sized fluffy foam. Naturally, the beer smelled smoke, especially wood and smoked ham. The flavor was slightly sweet, smoky. The smokiness was fairly mild with hints of smoked ham, bacon and peppers. The feeling of the liquid was quite dry, the body was medium.

Bottle. Amber pour. Small head. Aroma of ham, smoked malt, caramel, and a hint of lemony tartness. Flavor is a nice combo of lemon, ham, smoked malt and caramel.

Bottle, from back log. A definite smokey aroma and taste which is not mu favorite thing to have but it was pulled off decent. Some malty bitterness added to the flavor.

On tap at brewery. Pours a deep honey amber with no head and no lace. Aroma primarily of smoke with some caramel underneath. Tastes of smoked malt, saltiness and caramel. 4 oz was even a bit too much.

It poured a hazy dark golden liquid with a small foam. It had a smell of bacon and smoked ham. It had a smooth, salty and fat mouthfeel. A taste of smoke, bacon and smoked ham.

Bomber. The pour yields a moderately hazy, dark amber colored body. A small, foamy, off-white head leaves virtually no lacing behind. The nose is based in caramel and biscuit malt, lightly sweet, with a smoky, savory, alderwood overtone. Flavors are very much the same, lightly toasty and stocked with caramel malt, with a stout smoked element and notes of earthen hops. Medium bodied and balanced, the palate neither disappoints or impresses. Overall, it’s a sound rauchbier that I wold certainly never turn down, but the sweetness is a little overbearing.

On tap @ Hamilton’s pub: Poured in color a medium mahogany color with a decent sizing of head. The nose does allow for scents of Rogue’s signature malt along with a mild smoky aroma. The flavor is the usual Rogue taste added with a strong smokiness too it, but has a weird astringent aftertaste.

Clear orange with a fizzy white head. Smokey wood aroma and taste with a malty finish.
