Rogue Smoke Ale

bottle. Pours a nice rich red hue with a firm white head. Aroma is, well, very smoky with a rich sweet malt foundation which reminded me of their chipotle ale. This is ridiculously smoky tasting, it’s pretty much liquid smoke. There’s a bit of bacon and a sweet maltiness. Wow. surprising, not in a good or bad way, but in a surprising way.

[bottle - 22 oz] Hazy orange pour with a nice and long-lasting tan head. Aroma is lots of smoke, meat, salt and a touch of malt. Slightly sweet malt taste at the beginning with lots of smoke and beef underneath. Leaves a slight hint of cigarette smoke in your mouth after. I don’t think I liked smoked beers as a style.

Poured bronze/orange with a quickly diminishing off white head. Aroma is smokey and beefy, similar to the cold winter air smell. Flavor had just enough smoked taste so that it wasn’t overbearing. Beefy with cinamon and ginger. Body was nice and malty.

22z bottle. Tasted 10/14. #2 of 6 smoke beer that night. Reddish-brown hue with a spotty off-white head. Faint smoke notes, definitely a let down after #1. Biscuit like malt nose. Medium bodied with a light roast malt. Good dose of hops in the finish. Good bitter base beer. Smoke nose and flavor mild at best.

GABF 05. Pours a faded brown. Aroma is burning hickory and oak wood. Flavor is full-bodied and smokey. Palate is nice. I would love more of this!

22 oz bot....Novelty=10....Strong aromas of smoke...golden reddish hue...light foam....tastes like a smoked meat log....infused....made with smoked hops...."tastes like a burnt hot dog"...H.P......yum

RBESG 2005, amber colour with an off white head. Smoky aroma and flavor with a light sweet taste and meat notes.
