Rogue Smoke Ale

Bottle. Amber colour with no head. Eal aroma and taste. Medium body and a Bornholm finish.

Bottle @ RBESG 2005. Good smoky aroma, notes of ham and smoked meats. Copper colored brew, small white head. Light smoky flavor, with a nice underlying malt profile. This one could defintely use some more smoke!

My first smoke beer, and I found it utterly beguiling: appearing like a good-looking pint of dark amber bitter with a good head, but with an unexpected and savoury aroma of smoked bacon and cucumber. Pehaps I was hoping for a bit more hoppy bitterness, but overall it was deliciously smooth and drinkable. There seem to be half a dozen Rogue beers in Sainsbury’s these days. I look forward to working through them.

(on bottle at RBESG 2005) Rusty-clear colour, white head. OK on the smoke, not big. Soft and smooth pour, still not power-smoke-beer. Semi-hoped finish.

Bottled at RBESG 2005. Orange coloured with a yellow head. Sweet aroma with notes of smoke. Smoked flavour with notes of fruits and malts.

Nut brown, smokey nose of smoked ham. Medium-bodied. Smokey, mildly hoppy. Good hoppy-smokey aftertaste. Good smoke beer.

Bomber from brad. Pours a dark amber color with a light tan head. Nose is smoked ham and bacon. Taste is full and purely smoked. Flavors of bacon and ham throughout, a good malt sense and some meatiness.

Bottled. Dark brown beer with a constant head. The aroma is pleasant and not too stongly smoked whilst the flavour has a nice long lasting light dry finish with a body full of smoked ham. Overall a smoked beer that is not over bearing.
