Rogue Smoke Ale

Bottle. Nice delicate smoke aroma and some ripe fruits (apples). Very soft body, not much bitterness. Dry finish probably due to the smoke. Nice classic german rauch flavor and aroma, with clean but appley fermentation profile and small bitterness.

Just had my first one today. Has a good taste and nice aftertaste. No bitter after taste which makes me like it. Liked the smoky taste to it, different will try again sometime.

Bottle (65 cl), thanks deft. Hazy amber, medium off-white head. Tar smoked aroma with some spicy hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Dry with a salty bitterness.

Hazy copper color, fluffy tan head. Smoke, acidic scent. Smoke, dry taste. Mienral aftertaste, dry. Medium to moussy mouthfeel. Low bitterness.

(Bottle) Pours light hazy, dark amber with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is smoky up front with notes of burned wood, smoked meat/cheese and light tar. Undertones of light peach, chilly, bready/light nutty malt and noble spicy/herbal hops. The nose is not super complex but nicely balanced. The flavour is light sweet, light to medium bitter and near medium smoky. Beautiful light dry finish of balanced smoked malt and spicy noble hops. The subtle maltiness is well structured. The mouthfeel is clean and medium carbonated. Smoke and hops lingers. Near medium bodied.

Tried this at a beer tasting at the Four Firkens. I’ve never had a beer like this before and was intrigued. It actually had a taste of something that was in a smoker. I bought a bottle because I’m very intrigued to see how it would taste with some smoked salmon or smoked ribs.

Smokey aroma, light amber appearance, tastes like smoked cheese/pork bbq. The first couple of sips can be challenging but after your tastebuds adjust the rest of the bottle is amazing.
