Rogue Smoke Ale

Pours a darker amber color with a nice off-white head. Aroma is malty and smoked. Taste starts sweet then the amazingly strong smoke flavor jumps at you over the smoothness of this brew, ok, but very strong smokey’ness.

Hazy copper with a beige head. Aroma of bacon, ashes, burnt malt. Good carbonation, watery texture, light to medium bodied. Flavor was mesquite, bacon, some sweetness. Overall, not a very pleasant drink.

ahk, smoke. I am dying. Ick, lung cancer has over taken me. Blah, but that is just the style to me. The colour is orange with a thin white head. The nose is smokey and salty. The taste is smokey and salty. Tastes kinda like smoked ham. Blah.

Hazy copper color. Nice smokey malty aroma with a hint of hops. Kind of dry but not really. Crisp and smooth. Smokey malt flavor. Citrus hops linger in the background. Overally pretty decent. Bought this 22oz bottle at Liquor Barn in Nashville.

22oz bottle. Orange in color with a nicce head. Smokey aroma. Malty. Smooth, and smokey. Easy drinking. Very hoppy. Enjoyable.

22 oz bomber. Cloudy orange with a nice tan head. Nice smokey malty aroma. Flavor is smooth and nicely smoked, with a big dose of hops.

Pours a deep slightly cloudy amber color with a very thin head. It has a nice smoky aroma with a touch of hops. At first sip you can taste the smoke which finishes with a hoppy taste.

Enjoyed a 22oz. bomber out of a snifter. Poured deep amber/orange color with a slight haziness. Persistant thin white head with minimal lacing. A moderate amount of beechwood smoke immediately fills the nose; prominent, but not overpowering. Not nearly as much smoke as a couple of the German Rauchbiers I’ve had in the past. Flavors of smoked jerky and red cedar are noted, with a quite pleasant slick, smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with somewhat of an IPA hop character as the smoke taste gradually fades. I think I would have enjoyed this more if some darker malts were incorporated. Good stuff though and worth a try.
