Jun 16, 2005 [At GABF 2004] A hazy brown beer with a collapsing light brown head. The aroma is slightly smoked - definately from beechwood. While the flavor is sweet, slightly smoked, and with a dry end.

Aug 25, 2005 Bottled at RBESG. Dark amber. Rich beechwood style smokey aroma. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel. Intense smoke flavour accompanied by buttery malt. Unusually bitter finish for a smoke beer. Straightforward and uncomplicated, but for a rauchbier lover like me very enjoyable.

Mar 11, 2007 Bottle. Clear medium amber color with a small fizzy fair lacing white head. Aroma is malty (SMOKEY). flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. A very nice smoked beer comming from out side Bamberg ;o)

Bottle. Good malty and smokey flavour. Clear dark reddish brown colour. Very small creamy tan head. Good flavour, malty with smoke, subtle but easily spotted. Good mouthfeel. 7 3 7 3 17

Aug 31, 2008 Bottled@Chris O Post GBBF Tasting. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is smoke, malts, alcohol, US hops and some mild yeastyness. Flavour is smoke, some hops, caramel and mild yeasty and bready notes. Smoke and a bit grass in aftertaste.
