Good smoke in the aroma, but not much else. A nice flavor, that goes beyond the simple smokiness, and has the characteristics of a medium hopped APA. A nice beer! frylock (1030), Buffalo, New York, USA

The smoke flavors are rather subtle, but they are certainly present. Much more hop flavor than expected. Good, but one of the lesser smoked beers I have tried. The smoked flavor is much more subtle here than in other smoked beers that I have tried. I like this subtleness because it doesn't overwhelm the beer. Other flavors come through that compliment the smoked flavor. A bit of sweetness and maltiness followed by a nice bittering. There is still a nice meaty aroma and flavor to it though. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This beer goes down nice and smooth. BuckNaked (1211), Tempe, Arizona, USA

Aroma is earthy smoked malts, wood smoke, and hints of sweet fruit, spruce, with a very subtle touch of sweet honey covered malt. Taste is light smoked malt, sweet toffee, smoky caramel, earth, floral hops, and some smoked meat (though nowhere near as much as schlenkerla). Medium bodied, mild carbonation, well-rounded mouthfeel. Finishes somewhat dry with notes of light smoke and mild pine. I love smoked ales and always enjoy trying a new one. I like this take on the style, though I would like to see a bit more assertive smoke character carry through the full length of flavors. BUrunner (92), Indiana, USA

Smooth mouthfeel with flavor somewhat reminiscent of a campfire or smoked meat. Interesting and not too bad. BrewDad (2418), Olympia, Washington, USA

Aroma – Nice smoked malt and hops aroma.
Appearance – Amber in color, Thin light head and clear.
Flavor – This was a smokey ale. My first not made from a dark beer this was very good. The smokey flavor did not dominate which was good.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – One of the better smoked beer I have had . The flavor was not so strong as to make you look for the campfire you drank. A very good rendition of a smoked beer.
