Has a smoky aroma (of course) and smoked meat flavor - but not overdone. Appearance - not very attractive - murky light brown. The patented Rogue hoppiness adds a nice touch to a style that I am not particularly fond of. csbosox (1087), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 4, 2008 22oz Bomber. Served in a snifter. The aroma is a mix of malt, caramel, and smoldering campfire. Amber colored. Lots of initial malty sweetness, light fruit, and light earthiness to start followed by a moderate amount of smoke, not so much hammy smoke, but campfire smoke that is nicely balanced by the maltiness and apparent residual sweetness, which is absent in the balanced finish. Possibly a nice intro into the smoked beer style, certainly more drinkable than the typical smoked beer, but with this beer I found myself wanting. GarethYoung (1110), Glasgow, Scotland

Aroma of smoked deli meat, woody malt, subtle earthy hops. Flavor adds some biscuity malt and nicely bitter hops in the finish. Medium body, a bit more carbonated than balanced, too much so. Easy to drink. Decent. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 26, 2007 Bomber: Aroma is Liquid smoke, a bit of hops poking its way through, and Slimjims. Appearance is a cloudy murky brownish/orange with a soda-pop like head that demishes quickly. A nice smoke taste to it, but not the pure liquid smoke like some other smoked brews. A bit of hops and somewhat of a caramel malt texture too. The mouthfeel is carbonated and lively. Overall, It’s not the smoke bomb I had experienced before, and that’s a relief. Pretty decent stuff.
