Pours amber with a small frothy light tan head, tiny bubbles swiftly rising, spotty lacing. Aroma is light smoke, woodsy, caramel malt (biscuit), yeast (dough), notes of smoked meat. Flavor is smoked meat, ashy wood, caramel nutty malt and yeast, hint of hops at the end. Medium bodied and slight burn on the palate, refreshing. Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

Copper colored brew, small white head. Light smoky flavor, with a nice underlying malt profile. This one could defintely use some more smoke! rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA

Looks like a porter, and has the body of one, too. However, it tastes like bacon. Not really a big fan. spkldhenlvr24 (467), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2005 A lot better than my first smoked. Not one of my favorite Rogue ales. Pours a lighter brown/deep amber body with big beige head. Funky burnt, smoked, hickory aroma. Has a good smoked salmon flavor. Some decent hops can be tasted. Sorta bland, malty, nutty. Not a horrible beer. Sammy (4070), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
