estoppel (1019), Buffalo, New York, USA Jan 11, 2003 Hazy amber, medium off-white head receding, smoky nose. Oh yeah - I love smoked beers. A bit of sweetness behind the smoke. A tiny bit of bitterness in the finish.
jrmac (135), USA Oct 1, 2008 Pours a cloudy hazy brown with slightly off white head. Smells of malt, and smoked wood. Tastes of malt and smoked meat. Very interesting. Not exactly thirst quenching, but still good. Would go good with red meat. tgncc (295), Bellmore, New York, USA Sep 28, 2008 The aroma is strong with smoke, like a bbq. I had to work hard to pick up some sweet malty aromas. It was enticing, but it probably made me more hungry than thirsty. The appaearance is amber/gold, lots of bubbles from the carbonation, persistent white head. The flavor is smoky, sweet malts, caramel. Very enjoyable. The finish was smoky, like I was sitting right up on a campfire, but also had a slight bittering from the hops. Very good overall. A unique beverage. thornecb (1130), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Sep 28, 2008 Pours deep amber into a shaker. Off-white head with medium retention. Sweet malt and smoked ham aromas. Sweet upfront with a crisp smoke finish. Angeloregon (2000), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Pours a clouded orange-amber body with a thin creamy beige head. Smoky head with a mild floral hop background. Hearty crisp, and well built. Lingering smokiness. A mild bitterness that evolves into a prickly thin, cream,y dry, robust finish. Madsnp (139), Odense C, Denmark Sep 15, 2008 Bottle. Slight hazy copper coloured with a small egg white head. Aromas of grain, sweet malt, caramel and a little smoke. Watery melon flavour with sweet caramel notes, a star anise dryness and a delicate smokey flavour. The smoke is not dominating in this smoked, maybe because of the passed exp. date? May 1st. 2008
