k4df4l (133), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 4, 2008 Bottle - Pours a hazy amber with a creamy head. Aroma of smoke and malt. Flavor is similar sweet malt and medium smoke with a light spice finish. Not as smoky or "meaty" as other smoke beers I have sampled in the past and fairly drinkable.

Aroma – Nice smoked malt and hops aroma.
Appearance – Amber in color, Thin light head and clear.
Flavor – This was a smokey ale. My first not made from a dark beer this was very good. The smokey flavor did not dominate which was good.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – One of the better smoked beer I have had . The flavor was not so strong as to make you look for the campfire you drank. A very good rendition of a smoked beer.
Ethereal (724), London, Greater London, England Jul 12, 2008 Bottle at home with renffisch, 25th June 2008. Cloudy amber with a smoky nose that also has a lactic character. Tastes like a watered down Bamberg rauchbier, with plum flavours too. Average weight. An enjoyable smoked ale, but no Schlenkerla! renffisch (384), london, Greater London, England Jul 8, 2008 bottle with ethereal. hazy amber, off-white lacy rim. Quite delicate somewhat milky fetid smoke smoke nose. very odd tasting, but not unpleasant, still somehow fatty mouthfeel. notes of burnt beachwood and juniper root. odd. SQNfan (388), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Qutie smokey and malty with great balance. There was a bunch of sweet malt in the mid-palate which was rich yet didn’t come off heavy. Another great one for a 4th of July BBQ. meyermc (2), , British Columbia, Canada does not count Jun 25, 2008 The smoke is impressive, tasty not artificial like smoked mozzarella. Cloudy dark honey color. Soft finish. Felt like like a light meal.
