Strong ale like a double IPA and a quick flash of fresh mint at the beginning. Refreshingly complex, warm, tingly and an earthy grit. jhumphries69 (722), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2007 Pours a bright orange/gold with a slight haze and a medium-sized off-white head. The aroma is not very strong but is a nice balance of sweet malts and pine hops. The flavor starts with a combination of bitter hops and sweet, hard candy. On the middle of the tongue It has a medicinal quality somewhat like grape-flavored pediatric cough medicine. The finish is grassy and funky with an astringently bitter aftertaste that includes a mild sweetness. The mouthfeel is creamy and medium in body (quite light considering the beer’s strength) and a touch undercarbonated. Overall, not as good as I was hoping from this special batch, but perhaps the keg my sample was poured from is not in top shape. bdigital (586), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2007 About the best way I can describe this is: HOPPY!!!! Both in aroma and taste, this was one overpowering brew. The alcohol showed itself immensely. Their was some subtle hints of citrus and a bit of a malt aspect, but nothing could overthrow the power of the empire of hops in this bad boy. Will seek out again to let age a bit and hopefully calm its happy-ass down some. bethmatt0421 (318), Covington, Kentucky, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2007 Grassy and hoppy in flavor and aroma. Appearance is soft yellow and a welcoming head. Not overpowering, but the hop bite is obvious. Slightly complex, but hey, im a hophead, and i love it. Two thumbs up for rogue..once again. Schultsc (482), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 5, 2007 Aroma of earthy hops and some alcohol and chocolate malt. Strong malt profile with dark roasted toffee notes sits beneath thick, dark hops bitterness. Fairly well-balanced mouthfeel with a long, lingering bitter finish. mhot55 (99), USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2007 "3 words- malt, hops, and citrus. These 3 share an equal but potent punch in flavor profile and also lend a substantial body; not too heavy, with a good sharp carobnated nose. hop bitterness is strong, so is the malt flavor. there’s no balance or off-setting- both charactreristics ar e powerful. It reminded me slightly of a barelywine. There is evedn a cidery look, feel, and taste. I’m suprised thne alcohol content wasn’t higher. It had a medicinal "heat" to it- so the alcohol isn’t masked. Appearance is a hazy/ slightly cloudy amber- orange. Good beer, a bit expensive though."

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Tap @ Papago. Good sweet citrus aroma. Orange body with off white head. Body texture was little thin and had a high amount of bitterness and some citrus oranges in the flavor. Dry bitter palate. Oakes (8080), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Updated: Aug 3, 2007Bottle, private tasting Dull pale beige. Hazy. Peach, peanuts, pear, chewy malts and plum. Scattered flavours - pear, peach, light chocolate. Hints of toast, maybe earth. The peach/pear notes are typical of a young high-test pale brew, which this clearly is. There’s nothing cohesive about it. A light splash of alcohol comes in late, mercifully cutting through the cloying sugars. Give it time, the more the merrier.
