GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA May 8, 2008 Bottle. Poured a hazy medium orange color with a white head. A bit of lace was left behind. Aroma was of thick malty caramel and light citrusy hops. Delicately sweet on the tongue with mild hop bitterness of about 3 out of 10. The flavor was malt dominated with caramel and honey-touched cereal grain elements. There was also a sprucy hop note, but it wasn’t as pronounced as I had anticipated. At 10%, neither was the alcohol flavor. Pretty good, non-offensive beer with some personalty. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA May 7, 2008 Body is a hazy amber. Aroma of piney hops. Flavor full of chewy malts and a sweet, dry bitterness. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA May 4, 2008 Updated: Jun 4, 2008Bottle, courtesy Gillard. Pours a golden straw color, with a fizzy white head, and decent lacing. Sweet hoppiness in the aroma, with caramel and banana. Sticky syrupness, vanilla wafers, fig and caramel. Overall, pretty hoppy. Bitter finish, easy to drink, and balanced well. Lacks that Rogue flavor, which is probably good. DougShoemaker (2855), Toronto, Canada Apr 26, 2008 Nose is treated to orange, pine, pears and white plums, hazy tequila sunrise in colour, wears a small tan head. Taste is a burst of orange, pine needles, lots of malt to pull this together nicely. Full bodied, very balanced for all it’s hop and alcohol, pleasantly bitter. Great! jeffwilliams11 (310), hooterville, Michigan, USA Apr 20, 2008 pours hazy copper color. flavor and aroma are very raisiny. alcohol is present but not overpowering. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 8, 2008 Fairly complex flavours happening in here but the classic Rogue hops and dark chocolate dominate. Pours very thick, a hazy orange with small yellow head. Nicely bitter with a sweet backbone, very noticeable alcohol. This alone probably caused the recent hop shortage. thomat (666), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 31, 2008 hazy orange with a small white head. Sweet and fruity tones. Malt, fruit and lots of hops ! Full body with long, dry aftertaste.
