A: This beer broke the cherry of my free Sam Adams glasses. It pours a dark amber color with bubbles rising the entire time thanks to the etched bottom. There was a head while pouring but it fell quickly after I stopped leaving only a thing layer of bubbles. S: The aroma is hoppy but with a heavy malt presence that balances it nicely. T: I am actually a bit surprised that the hops are in check as much as they are because I was expecting more bitterness. The bitterness is there, but it comes later and is balanced by the malt. The hop flavor is up front and strong, but still not overdone. M: The beer is thick and smooth going down. It has a medium heavy body and is a great drink. D: This is a good beer. I expected a over the top hop bomb but it is a very balanced beer. If it wasn’t over 20 bucks a bottle I’d drink it a lot.

Tap at VSK event. Malty, piney and floral. Interesting minty quality to the flavor. Seems hugely drinkable for 10%. Well rounded but not amazing.

Props to the bottle. Floral nose. Not too much carbonation, pours a light reddish orangish color. Full palate of flavors, from a deep malty base to a dryer hoppier finish. Well-balanced, but there’s a lot going on here. Very heavy feel to it, and alcohol is notable. This one really has everything. Probably will not buy again, mainly due to price, but I’m glad i tried it.

Sample from the over the top flip top bottle shared by someone at the Cincy gathering. The pour was a slightly hazy amber color with a thin film we might call a head. The aroma is fairly weak, but light fruits and a general bitterness are discernable. The flavor has some malt presence, but again a general bitterness dominates. This is not necessarily a hoppy type bitterness as much as its just bitter. Medium mouthfeel. I wish I wouldn’t have spent the money on one myself now.

Malty body, lots of bitterness. Pne forest. They have tried to pack it all into this one, maybe tunig down some of the ingredients would have made it even better.

Medium offwhite head. Orange body iwth carbonation. Malty catty hoppy aroma with fruity notes. Some caramel. Dry intense mango fruit and catty hop taste with malty notes. Aftertaste is much the same. Chalky and harsh mouthfeel. Interesting, but imperfect. (0.77l ceramic bottle at Knut Albert’s.)

Comments: Very aggressive beer in all aspects, rough-edged and topping its extremities with slashes of higher alcohols that hits you straight in the head. Too bad, I like Rogue.
