Apr 15, 2007 Nose of perfume, orange, pine & spruce, bubblegum, lilac, and resin. Pours a hazy blonde honey amber. The mostly lasting ultra-stiff off-white head leaves very good lace. The flavor is HUGE and very complex. Swirling from malty to spicy to sweet to sour to bitter to toasted, this brew pretty much covers all the bases. The citrus presence is a lovely treat. The thick & full body is soft and dry, perfect. Hat’s off to my friend Tony for giving me the "head’s up" on this brew.

Mar 18, 2007 Draught at (the new!) Blind Tiger, NYC. Poured clear copper with a frothy off- white head. Aroma of caramel/toffee malt with a fair amount of sprucey and citrus hops. Dark malty flavor with an underlying earthiness and a lot of hops--mostly resiny with some citrus. Full bodied and slightly syrupy. It left my lips a little sticky. This one seems like a cross between a 2IPA and a barleywine. Nice big solid beer, satisfying for sure, but for an anniversary/milestone brew, it doesn’t really have anything to remember it by.

Apr 26, 2007 Cost brunted by sliffy. Hazy brown orange pour with an off white head.Aroma of musty pine some spice characters, caramel malt as well. Flavor of piney hops, caramel malt, and some boozey elements. Medium bodied, bittersweet throughout with a nice resiny hop finish.

Jun 25, 2007 On tap at Landmark 1850. Cloudy amber color and nice white head. First wiff smells like a strawberry shortcake doll my little girl plays with. Smell of tons of malt, tons of hops, some citrus, caramel, strawberries, cream, bread/cake batter, pine, spiced fruit, orange peal and light alcohol. Taste of malt, dark fruit, citrus, caramel, clove, cinnamon, rasins, cherries, candy, brown sugar, pine and hops, hops, hops. Great beer. Loved all the malts but loved the hop flavor more.

Apr 15, 2007 Color is a beautiful brownish-golden with a hint of red, not much of a head to it. Aroma is not strong, but is promising. Flavor is nice and hoppy but also has some malty undertones and some bitterness that does not carry over muvh into the aftertaste. If you don’t mind a fair amount of bitterness, this is a drinkable and enjoyable brew, a worthy way for Rogue to celebrate an awe-inspiring milestone.

May 20, 2007 Shared at DLD by someone. Aroma of maltiness and some hops with some earthy bitterness to it. Nothing all that special and definitely not worth the price tag.

Apr 3, 2007 Couldn’t resist this on on tap locally. Pours dark amber. Tons of hops in this one. It overwhelms the other flavors, a bit, but still good. A big, chewy, hoppy beer.

Oct 16, 2008 Bottle shared at Trappeze. Pours nice amber orange with thin head. Aroma of sweet malt and citrus hops, a little weak. Taste is a little more malt than hop. Light bitterness in the finish. Mouth is sticky and full.
