Hazy orange color with a foamy cream colored head that shrank to a whisp. If jolly rancher made a hop flavored candy, it would taste like this. Tons of hop bitterness - pineapple, grapefruit peel, spruce tips, and some Play D’oh. It really seems a little heavy handed on the hops. And the price point seems a little inexplicable. chef201atc (249), Weatherford, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 27, 2007 Slightly cloudy reddish amber colored pour, quick diminishing slightly off-white head. Nose is dominated by floral hoppiness with some malty sweetness underneath. Medium bodied mouthfeel with a fair amount of carbonation. Flavor is a lot of floral hoppiness – almost to the point of being perfumey. Nice lingering bitter finish. Gets better as it warms. hopson (596), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Thanks to my buddy Scott for picking up this expensive brew. Clear amber orange in appearence, small white head with some lacing. Thought this was an imperial ipa, but to see it classified as a strong ale is not surprising. Big hop aroma, piney, with a lot of alcohol warmth. A bit thin in the mouthfeel. Overall, although a fine beer, the price is not justifiable given the many options out there. carruthm (1185), Seattle, Washington, USA

Herbal sensations. Tastes of lavender and banana with a very juicy sweet fruit note. Maybe a peach. A clean and polished palate. There’s an element of pleasant surprise here, knowing what brewery this comes from and finding that it’s actually rounded and a bit subtle. MrBendo (1052), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2007 Draft at Capone’s. I was starting to think that I’d never have any of this, because there was no way I’d spend that much for the bottle. Hazy orange/amber color. Big caramel backbone beats out the piney hops Very bitter and slightly alcoholic finish. BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2007 A bitter hop nose on this dark cold beer. Minimal head and a nicely balanced hops and malt. If all rogue beers were this good I’d be a regular drinker, but massively overpriced as it stands. bdigital (593), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2007 About the best way I can describe this is: HOPPY!!!! Both in aroma and taste, this was one overpowering brew. The alcohol showed itself immensely. Their was some subtle hints of citrus and a bit of a malt aspect, but nothing could overthrow the power of the empire of hops in this bad boy. Will seek out again to let age a bit and hopefully calm its happy-ass down some.
