Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a longlasting off-white head. Has a sweetish malty smoky maple aroma. Sweetish applewood smoky maple flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty spicy smoky maple finish.

pours maple syrup brown, smallish head, some slow-moving CO2 streams. Very intense and aromatic applewood & hickory smoke on the nose. A burst of hickorysmokeup front, light and watery malts in the mids, light sweetness (3/10), minor saltiness, light maple caramel, finishes with a long smokiness and a light bitterness. Some medium sourness as the beer warms. Medium complexity, medium depth, good transitions, decent carry, good drinkability. Definitely a unique beer and one of the best looking bottles I’ve ever seen.

750ml bottle shared with some friends. Color is a deep amber with good carbonation and a nice off white head. Aroma is bold with maple and smoke. It has a medium body with a rich mouth feel. Flavor is very interesting, with maple and smoke that really gives a bacon like taste. In the after taste the sweetness and smoke hang a little heavy. Overall it nails the flavor they are going for but it gets to be a bit much and trying to drink the whole thing alone would be tough.

750mL bottle. Poured medium amber with a dense, 1" beige head. The aroma picked up lots of maple and salty bacon with smoked hickory around.. meaty and intriguing. The flavor found more of the smoked malts, caramel, and almost nutty notes at the core.. salty bacon and maple essence around.. some earthy and herbal bitterness joined maple and caramel on the salty finish. Medium-bodied with low-ish carbonation on the palate.. tart smokiness held the sweetness in check.. OK flow.. there was a lot going on here, but I really enjoyed it.

Pours a dark brown with reddish tint with a medium head foam. Aromas scream maple syrup and smoke. It a fun aroma. Tastes like liquid smoke, syrup and bacon bits. It was actually rather unpleasant. The long lingering smokiness kills the palate and the over sweet maple overcompensates. Glad I tried it...won't do it again. --- Cheers

Slightly hazy, light brown colour, firm but diminishing white head. Aroma of maple syrup, wood, caramel, smoke, roasted marshmellows and ’hopjesvla’. Flavour of malts, smoke, somewhat sweet, smoked bacon, marshmellows, wood and maple. Somewhat thinner than expected. Finish of wood, sweet wood, hickery, cherrywood and marshmellow.
Quite weird. Extra point weirdness and the over the top bottle. Does make perfect sence when added to a BBQ ribs marinade.

Aroma is very similar to a maple donut along with a smokey aroma. The taste is sweet at first with the a lot of smoke kicking in after. While the donut flavor isn’t really there the smoke reminds the palate if bacon while the maple comes through in the sweetness. Not too sure why more people don’t like it, as I found it uniquely well made and enjoyed it quite a bit.

From a bomber it has a nice amber color in the glass with a small head. The aroma has maple that is noticed first and foremost. Very sweet on the nose. The taste has some bitterness up front with maple that follows. Slight taste of cinammon and spice. Long maple finish.

Wow. This is pretty fantastic. Huge bacon bits aroma and flavor. Really great aroma. Flavor has hints of syrup on the tail. Very clean ale with no fruitiness, and not sugary sweet either. I’d almost peg this base style as a dopplebock. Very very very interesting.
