3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 robinvboyer (2576) - Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 17, 2013
Murky brown pour, big beige head. The aroma is breakfast. Think bacon dipped in maple syrup. Smells just like sunday breakfast. The flavor is more of the same, the body is a tad watery, and the finsh s quite dry, and quick! There is next to no aftertaste, and no bitterness. An interesting beer, but it seems to be 80% aroma.
1.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 gilvanblight (678) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2013
Okay had to take a sip of the head after pouring. That was a ton of head very fast and I have to say that the initial taste of that head scares me a bit. Smells odd, just weird. Smoky and sweet and beer like. The smokiness is the strongest part. Taste is something else. It kind of tastes exactly what you expect it to taste like. The problem is that this isn’t peanut butter and chocolate. I guess you make this because you can and people will buy it, but I’m not sure how many will enjoy it. Not I.

Wanting to try this for a while, and finally got some more at the LCBO. Pours a cloudy deep amber colour with a big frothy off-white head that lasts a long time and has foamy lacing. Great nose of the smokey bacon with the sweetness (maple) of the donuts. Thankfully, the sweetness is quite mild in the mouth. A little fruity, but with the smoke taking over into the aftertaste. Not tasting the maple so much either, which would balance the smokiness a little better. Still, a real interesting smoke brew that has a daring name.

Bottle share. Ugly pond looking pour with no head. Aroma was good with solid maple smell. Taste was awful. Smokie ashtray soot, bitter lingering aftertaste. Gross.

750ml bottle strong smoked bacon aroma the second I opened the bottle. Don’t like this at all. Smoked sausage taste
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Kshlava (35) - - MAY 13, 2013
If you're looking for something that tastes exactly like advertised, this is it. Hickory smoked bacon up front, maple syrup aftertaste. If I could have a 1/2 pint of this and a 1/2 pint of fouder's breakfast stout, I would be eating pancakes, bacon, and coffee for breakfast.

2.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 kevinsenn (550) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2013
750mL bottle from LCBO. Hazy orange with big beige head. They nailed the aroma; pancakes, maple syrup, and bacon. The taste pretty much matches that I guess, but it’s not something I really like in beer form; really smoky, sweet maple and pancakes, and an almost spicy smoky finish. Somewhat flat with a sticky sweet body. Couldn’t finish the whole bottle.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 JamesChamp (108) - Oakville, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 8, 2013
I see a lot of people do not like this beer, but I personally really, really enjoyed it. Anyways great beer, and the bottle was way different then anything else on the shelf, it looks different and cool.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 indigentone (8) - Colorado, USA - MAY 5, 2013 does not count
Poured from a putrid pink bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a nice thick white head with nice lacing clinging to the side of the glass. Aroma is pretty close to what the label says so there should be no surprise. Nothing subtle about the maple and the bacon. A nice sweet smokiness with perhaps a bit if butterscotch but the smoke is the most noticeable. The taste is a smoked Christmas ham and the more you inhale as you drink, the more maple you get. There is perhaps just a bit of lingering clove at the end mixed in with the smoke. The palate is medium with plenty of carbonation. As others have said, it’s a novelty beer and no doubt will offend some but I was at least amused by it. Worth a try. Share a bomber with a few friends and watch their faces.
