2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pepto-bismol coloured bomber from Sherbrooke. Heard interesting things about maple bacon, so I figured i’d give this a whirl. Pours a dark-chocolate brown, aromas of chocolate and banana predominant. I get a little chocolate, and peanut butter on the palate, but this is destroyed by a banana catastrophe. Not banana-clovey like a weizen, but like an artificial banana - like the amoxycillin they give to sick children. Just a strange experience altogether.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
After trying the chemical train wreck known as Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon, I was surprised that I’d try another Pepto-Bismol bomber with the same witch doctor on the label. Still, I couldn’t resist when I found this at half price in the closeout cart. This one pours a dark brown with moderate tan head. Aroma is full for milk chocolate, brown sugar, and banana. Taste is sweet with a slightly bitter finish, and very little peanut butter. Body is medium at best, which was a bit of a disappointment. Slight carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel were outweighed by the artificial flavors. A weird beer experience and great bottle not worth the full price.

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer pours black with a huge brown head. This beer starts off sweet with a lot of complex flavors. There is a lot of chocolate, coffee and banana. The peanut butter is very mild and this beer ends bitter. This is much better then the bacon maple beer.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Slight hints of banana and peanut butter. Tastes more like a weak stout. Not what I was hoping for.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Pours a dark brown with medium tan head into snifter. Nose is of peanut butter, malt, brown sugar. Taste is of strong brown sugar, chocolate. Body is medium. I think the issue I have is that the flavors are very strong, but the body doesn’t match it. It makes the beer somewhat obnoxious: not on the first couple of sips, but about half way through it. I think if there was a thicker, fuller feel, it would be better. Needless to say I couldn’t finish a glass of it.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bomber. Looks pretty, dark, nice head. Nose is just overpowering peanut butter, taste is sweet, rough, muddy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. I can understand the bad rap this beer gets but I don’t think actually think it is completely horrible. Light chocolate and brown sugar but it pretty much reminds me of those weird banana lollies you can get. Weird desserty beer

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, banana, toffee, light peanut butter, toast, bread, and toasted earthiness. Ok aromas with interesting balance of malt, banana, and light peanut butter notes; smells pretty artificial, but has good strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, toast, banana, toffee, bread, light peanut butter, light roast, floral, and toasted earthiness. Lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, banana, toast, light peanut butter, light roast, floral, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a bit. Pretty solid balance and robustness of malt and extract flavors; with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy and smooth mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a pretty solid experimental flavored beer. Ok balance and robustness of malt and extract flavors; and smooth to drink. A fairly enjoyable offering.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle. Why did I fall for this again? I hated the other Voodoo thing, this ain’t any better. Obtuse, crammed with flavors that simply don’t belong in a beer glass. The banana creme aroma and flavor is overpowering, overly sweet and not a good fit for a dark, chocolate-based beer. I don’t dig this at all, and would pour it out if I hadn’t paid for it. 2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Well. It happened. I got this beer. I wasn’t going to, but it just ended up in the cart and next thing I know I was drinking it. Drank about 330ml of it. Poured a light, brown color with a medium sized white head. Aroma had milk chocolate notes, nutty malts, bananas. Flavor was wheat notes, some light yeasty bananas, nuts, milk chocolate notes. Strange. Not great, very gimmicky, but not overtly offensive. The non-jaded friend who thinks that our hobby is strange would probably like this to this one more.
