Bottled@SBWF2013. Very deep ambery brown colour with a small beige head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, strawberries, nuts and some bananas. Flavour is banana, peanut butter, strawberries, chocolate and some vanilla to it. Flavour was actually quite pleasant in some perverse way.

Bottled at SBWF. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Werid aroma of banana, strange spices and candy. Super sweet with a full array of clashing superficial flavours, such as peanut butter, fudge, bubble gum and banana. Beer for kids, Southern Tier style.

’Paul takes a brown shower’ tasting at Bruce’s pad. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Soft airy palate - light. Fine minerally carbonation. Sweet banana nose with lesser chocolate. Dry malt. Sweet artificial tasting banana. A little chocolate powder and a touch of sweet bubblegum. Finishes dry. Just about okay until the aftertaste where a nasty saccharin bitterness dominates.

Bottle at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Oxidised. Smells like a fairground. No it’s horrible. Oxidised thin in mouth and basically terrible. Nasty.

Bottle, 22oz. A nice looking beer, dark brown in color and with a dense, two-finger beige head. The aroma feels very sweet, with scents of coffee, dark chocolate, some banana hints and even more chocolate. Quite sweet on the palate, but not as sweet as expected judging from the aroma. Roasted malts, chocolate and some fruity stuff. Full-bodied and quite bitter, with a bit too much carbonation. Sweet, bitter and roasted finish with some fruity notes. There’s something in there reminiscent of peanut butter, but so vague I wouldn’t have noticed if I got the beer without knowing which beer it was. Rather nice this one, expected a mess. 130812

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a 4 finger creamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a touch of peanut butter. Full bodied. Flavor is strange to start. Very odd. Moves on to chocolate and a little peanut butter. Not much banana. As the carbonation leaves it turns somewhat watery. Kind of earthy. Suggests coffee dregs. It is dry. Peanut butter seems to stand out a bit more in the finish. It is interesting, but do they really expect anyone to have a second one?

Leighton (11122) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 21, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s, London - massive thanks to Jack for importing this beer by hand. Pours clear, deep brown with a fine, light beige foam head. Aroma carries some artificial banana, hints of peanuts, mild fake and dusty cocoa. Light to medium sweet flavor, lots of medicinal sugars, some burnt toast, artificial banana and chocolate. Light to medium bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Some dryness to finish, toasty sugars, burnt bread, chalky cocoa, dried bananas. Pretty scattered and not altogether good. Some herbal notes. Very hard to find any redeeming qualities here.
