3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not bad. I wouldn’t call it a Fruit Beer. The banana flavor does come through, as does the chocolate. The peanut butter is not as evident. Worth a try, but not worth the bottle price.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
I openly hate Rogue and I mega-hated the last Voodoo Abomination. That said, curiosity is a powerful force, so here I am drinking what is sure to be another egregious beer experience. Poured into a snifter.
3.5 A: Dark brown almost black color. Two fingers of frothy tan head. Retention is about average and a decent amount of lacing is left.
2.0 S: Hmmm. This is certainly unholy and I’m sure that Satan bathes in this, but I can’t figure out how much I hate it or even if I hate it. Well, I’m pretty sure I hate it. I guess this is what I’d expect from a chocolate, peanut butter, and banana plug-in air freshener. It pretty much reeks of artificial. The main and only aromas that aren’t blocked out are the banana, peanut butter, and chocolate. For how much this beer cost, they could have used real chocolate and peanuts and got banana out of the yeast, but that wouldn’t be the bullshit way of making this.
1.25 T: It certainly also tastes like what is in it - chocolate extract, banana extract, and peanut butter extract. It doesn’t matter how good the extract is, it’s always the same and it’s always shitty in beer. This tastes like a homebrew experiment. The flavors are artificial, don’t flow well at all, and are all either too intense or muted. This has way too much bitterness for what it is. There’s too much astringency (I guess from one of the extracts). The base offers no mediation. I don’t care enough to attempt to pick out any flavors below the mess. It tastes like extract.
2.5 M: They even fucked up the mouthfeel. It has a lighter medium body made lighter by the fact that it’s overcarbonated. No creaminess and certainly not smooth.
1.0 D: This beer is so shitty and so ungodly expensive that I can only assume that whoever brewed it and whoever priced it are going to be sitting in it someday in Satan’s bathhouse. It should be obvious that I would never buy it again. I wouldn’t even accept a free bottle. Hell, I wouldn’t even accept a free bottle if it came with a good local sixer if it meant I had to drink this again. The only redeeming aspect of this beer is that it scratched my curiosity itch, albeit at great cost.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
750 ml bottle. Translucent brown topped by a big rocky light tan head. Interesting candy-like cocoa puffs aroma. I do detect hints of peanut butter and banana, as well. Flavor is roasted sweet malt with notes of cocoa, nuts and toasted pumpernickel bread. Little hop prescence. I respect Rogue Ales for their adventurism and creativity, but this is just not very good. It tastes artificial.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours pitch black, like a stout with a lasting white head. Aroma is mostly sugar. Very sweet beer, some banana and peanut butter in there but very sugary. Drinkable enough, liked the idea although disappointing.

Goofy beer, but honestly, not that bad. Noticeable chocolate with maybe a hint of banana and peanut butter.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
750 ml. Pours opaque chocolate with a lasting film of bubbles. Nose is chocolate glaze with a sourish fruit overtone, like an apple-strawberry juice. Flavor is more of the same plus some toasted nut and cola. I get some banana after a while, as well as some wooden notes in the long finish. Near-medium body is balanced by the acidity and has medium-high carbonation. Pretty much a mess, but not quite a drainpour.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Opaque dark brown, mid sized head. Interesting aroma containing chocolate, caramel, banana, and roast, but perhaps slightly too artificial. Creamy, mid-thick texture, not unlike a brown. Roast and chocolate dominate, but a peculiar fruity banana like taste is extremely apparent at the finish. It is certainly unique, but artificiality is present. The fruity, caramel banana taste tastes akin to cotton candy or syrup, although not overly sweet. No peanut butter at all. Although not fantastic, I’m satisfied given the originality.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
A dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma was a strange combination of banana, chocolate and some peanut, not the aroma I was expecting. Taste was bad for me. I did not get the banana or peanut or chocolate taste. Not for me.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml bottle in conical pint glass. Opaque brown-black appearance with thin head. Bubblegum nose, smells almost exactly like the strawberry freeze-dried astronaut food. Taste of thin peanut butter, artificial banana and sugar. Bland sugary aftertaste. Interesting to try, but would not buy again.
