Near black pour with a thin, creamy tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate syrup with some toasty, nutty and light fruity notes in there. Flavor is hot fudge and nice sweet raspberry notes, not a seedy raspberry taste like most raspberry flavored beers end up having, throw in a little roasted nuts and salted caramel toward the end and that’s about it. Light to medium body, creamy to syrupy feel, medium and sharp carbonation and still slightly syrupy, somewhat dry finish with a touch of fruity acidity. Pretty good overall, can’t say it’s worth anywhere near the $13/750ml price tag, but, I have paid more for much worse.

Bottle at James’ cellar cleaning tasting. Pours a softly hazed brown with a thin tan head. Big chocolate and fruit, smells like a raspberry stuffed chocolate. Medium bodied, but a touch empty at the start, raspberry jam. Sweet on the finish, a touch of chocolate.

Une bière très originale mais le mariage chocolat bretzel framboise est vraiment très particulier et je n'accroche pas vraiment ...

Sample at Waldo Hopfest 2016. Comes dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of raspberries and chocolate. Taste is raspberries, chocolate, and malt. No pretzel taste for me. Was prepared not to like this, but found it pretty good.

Rated on 8-04-2015 (Bottle) This beer’s appearance is a small tan head that mostly diminished, mostly opaque dark brown body, fast rising carbonation, and no lacing. The aroma presents raspberry, chocolate and malt. The flavor is raspberry, chocolate, malt, and semi-sweet. The mouthfeel is light carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. This beer does not have a lot of aroma or character. For me it is an easily forgettable beer.

750 ml bottle given to me for Father’s Day by my lovely wife. The pour is a dark brown, hazed, with a bit of tan head. The aroma is mostly chocolate up front, along with some caramel malt and maybe a hint of grain that might resemble pretzel towards the end. The taste is similar to the nose, big chocolate up front, caramel and the grain. All fresh and clean. As the beer warms, pick up a bit of raspberry and traditional Rogue yeast. The palate is medium to heavy bodied soft carbonation and chocolate sweet aftertaste. Well executed.

Pours deep mahogany into a shaker. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Soft and dry with sweet raspberry and chocolate front to back.
