Golden yellow, white bubbles, no lacing really, quite a nice beer, hoppy, grapefruit, smooth, not a beer I would normally drink but I can appreciate quality. Bottle from rouge mouton.

Now this is an IPA that is not for the faint hearted. Strictly for hops heads only. Aftertaste lasts for several minutes. Loving every sip.

Bottle from the Hop Hideout in Sheffield. Pours amber with a white head. Bitter with lots of tropical flavour, especially pineapple. Some resinous notes too. Good.

660ml bottle sample (Birofilia2014, Zywiec)
Pleasant fruity hop aroma, but kinda dull. More interesting taste. Pale, small head. Good hopping. A nice cramel base, but plenty of aromatic and bitter hops on top. Refreshing. Good use of melanoidin, I’m not normally a fan - doesn’t have the sticky flapjackiness of the malts which I sometimes get from that type. As you can tell from the 14 overall, there’s something that just works right in this brew.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy with a burnt orange colour. Thin white head with really stubborn lace. Sweet and fruity aroma, very slight. Malty initially with strong bitterness to end. Good body and good carbonation, coats well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy (bordering on murky) pour with a large and dense off white head. Surprisingly muted nose with a little pine and slight malt notes. The flavor comes across weak in the hops department. A little pine and grapefruit, not much bitterness, finishing with a little biscuit maltiness. Underwhelming from these guys.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz bottle. The prototypical Northwest American IPA. Bold golden yellow color, medium white billowy head that lasts throughout, soapy lacing all over the glass. Big grapefruit and pine aroma, some caramel malt as well. Taste is dominated by the grapefruit and pine bitterness, evened out by the caramel and bready malts, but still leaves a long bitter finish. Very easy to drink, abv is right in the sweet spot of an IPA.
