A bit too flowery for my taste/nose. Indeed, aroma was overpoweringly floral at the beginning. Definitive hop bite was there, as was the bitter aftertaste. Not a bad IPA, though certainly not a great one. One interesting thing I noticed as the beer warmed (I was soloing a bomber) and I swilled the final gulp, I noticed an acrid, yet familiar scent whafting from the bottom of my imperial pint glass. I swear I whiffed the subtle, yet all-too-familiar, and (dare I say) even slightly tantilizing scent of dried.... naw, couldn’t be!

Bottle 65cl.
Unclear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange, mandarin, medicine notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090725]

Sampled from a 22 oz. bottle at Grape & Gourmet’s Holiday Open House. Yellowish-orange pour. Aroma of mostly floral hops with a bit of must. Bitter hop flavor. Drinkable enough. My criticism of this beer would be the same thing that I say about Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and any of their IPAs that are not extremely fresh. The hop flavor is just not as bright and as clean as I had hoped for. Again, it’s good enough but it could be better.

This is a very good IPA. Aromas of citrusy hops and lemony tea. Flavors of hops and tea. Mouth coating and resiny finish. Cream head with nice lacing on the glass. A little astringent bitterness on the back end. Yum!

Hazy dark golden color. Aroma is of hops, malts, and some type of musty scent (almost like yellow snow). Taste is hops, bitter, and malts. Has a bite in the end.

22. Pours a crystal clear coppery medium amber. Thick and sudsy off-white head with some loose stringy lace here and there. Nice dark piney nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb that’s almost, but not quite, prickly. Very much a solid PNW IPA so far. Toasty, biscuity mid-palate, with the pine notes rolling in and taking over pretty quickly, washing into a long, crisp resiny bitter finish. Refreshing and forceful. Not bad at all. Taste is a little closed-off, and this recipe feels like a million other IPAs, hence the B+-ish score. Well-made, though, for sure.

Bottle, 65cl - Hazy orange amber beer with a large but brief head. Aroma is malty with notes of dried fruit, dates, spices and dry grassy hops. Flavor is sweet with notes of dried apples, dried apricots and dusty hops. Balanced solid IPA.

Bottle. Pours a brilliant orange with huge dense slightly offwite head. Aroma are a little subdued but show some biscuty malt and citrus hops. Flavours are just brilliant with initial malt sweentess followed by a huge kick of resiny hops. Bitterness lingers well after the finish. Great beer.
