Attractive aroma of piney hops, malty caramel, and a hint of pineapple upside down cake. Caramel in the flavor again with gentle hop bitterness. Predominantly dry with a touch of sweetness at the end balanced by the bitter hop finish. Medium bodied with an almost creamy mouth feel. nimbleprop (844), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Poured a solid copper from the bomber with little. Had a unique aroma, a hit of flowers, but also a hint of something else, like mustard maybe. Flavor was really smooth, enjoyably smooth and malty. Finish was only slighty bitter. This beer was very drinkable, but lacked a little bang for the buck. pinkzambia (989), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 15, 2006 Bottle: Another great brew from Rogue. Clear copper color with an off-white head. The aroma is spicy and seems well balanced in the malt and hop categories. The taste is largely malty and buttery with a real smooth flavor. The aftertaste is slightly soapy followed by some bitterness. Very good. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2006 Redish copper color with no head or lacing. Aroma is acidic and hoppy with a malty background. Flavor is very well balanced with nice floral hops. Fruity & chocolaty. Sweet, dry and bitter on the palate. A very yummy bitter. I usually shy away from these, but leave it to Rogue to impress me GonZoBeeR (2160), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 18, 2006 12 oz bottles -tried one, returned bought six. I thought this beer was very nice, enjoyed on a nightly basis for just less than a week. Murky amber color - cideresque. Malty, sweet fruits, caramel flavor - a bit of pine. A warm beer. If you are rating as an ESB, then this doesn’t stack up to Brutal Bitter, but I’m not 100% convinced that this is an ESB - see what you think. SledgeJr (2960), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 23, 2006 In the bomber bottle. Dark amber with a yellow-off-white head. Strong hop piney aroma. Citrus and strong bitterness to the flavor with a mild caramel taste. Not too sweet in comparison to the harsh hoppings. Palate fairly rough. Can’t say that this is one of my favorite Rogue beers.
