jcr (1136), Jasper, Indiana, USA Aug 24, 2005 Cloudy amber color with off-white head. Aroma dominated by malts. So is the taste. Hops jump in behind the malt to bitter-up the flavor, though the bitterness doesn’t linger long. Leans toward the sweet side, but avoids a syrupy mouthfeel. Medium to thin body, clean sipping. A nice, refreshing bitter. rickgordon (3285), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 21, 2005 Bottled. RBESG -05.
Amber colour. Rich hop aroma and flavour, though not on the citrusy side. Dry mouthfeel. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 21, 2005 Bottled at RBESG 2005.
Cloudy orange coloured with a yellow head.
Aroma of malts and caramel.
Flavour of fruits, caramel and hops. hammenlind (738), Sundbyberg, Sweden Aug 16, 2005 Amber coloured with a thick white head.
Hoppy, flowery orange nose with a small alcoholic hint. Dry mouthfeel.
Sweet, refreshing hoppy flavour. Slight fruity. Flavour fades away quickly though.....too bad, since it´s wonderful.
Great bitter finish. Tmoney99 (4655), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Aug 15, 2005 Bottle 12 oz. Brown color with full off-white head that diminished slowly. Roasted malt aroma. Medium body. Well balanced malt flavor with a medium pleasing bitter finish. Very enjoyable drinkable brew. hughie (3016), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England Aug 14, 2005 I liked everything about this beer: the bottle, the logo, the name - to say nothing of the attractive amber colour and frothy off-white head and lacing, the glorious floral aroma, the malty taste with citrus and other fruits and the satisfying bitter finish. Class act. jewedekind (450), Middleton, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2005 This is a fine beer. Deep amber wirh a full, frothy, off white head with a load of lace. A toasted aroma with a hint of sourwood honey. Taste includes some pine and grapefruit. Malty sweet, but balanced by lingering bitterness. fine Gachupines (290), USA Aug 9, 2005 This is a pleasant ESB, not as strong as the Brutal Bitter. Appearance is brown with a nice, thick head. Nice mild bitter with a taste that is dominated by malt flavors. Easy to drink, makes for a decent session beer.
