The nose is a superb, slightly musky caramel. The mouthfeel is very good - along the lines of the Dead Guy. The bitter in the end is a bit more lengthy, and the camel comes through a bit more. Plumbs and citrus dominate the palate. rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 13, 2005 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dense dark golden amber with a tight beige head. Aroma is primarily floral with notes of spices and grapefruit. Well-balanced, but it leans more towards the hoppy side, which I prefer for an ESB. Good lacing. Always a staple Rogue beer. kane (111), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2005 For some reason Rogue is one of the brewerys I take for granted, esp when it come to their 6-pack selection, and I am always reminded how good the beer is when go back and try it. This ESB is a prime example. Slightly hazy amber with a huge initial head (at least in my alt glass) that almost reminds me of a root-beer float, nonending. Seductive floral-citrus aroma. A nice balance of orange hop and pale malt taste. A very pleasant beer. TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA

Aroma is hoppy a bit floral and spicy. Flavor is mildy biscuity on the front then a bit of spicy hops kick in the finish. Another Rogue winner. mball581 (20), Maineville, Ohio, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2005 Golden pour, creamy ivory head - strong aroma of sweet malts, fresh bread. Smooth mouthfeel but a bit thin in the middle. The malts are light and a bit sour. Orange/lemon aftertaste. Good drinkability. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA
