| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2003 Lovely amber with scant tan head. Nice hops aroma with a hint of malt. Clean hops taste front and center, but enough malt to back it up. Not overly bitter. Excellent bitter. boFNjackson (1329), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Tap @ Rogue Public House, PDX... Poured clear amber with a nice head. Sweet caramel flavors that mesh with crystal malt and a mild bite of hops. Went down easily but enough complexity to make you appreciate it. Not as good as their Brutal Bitter though. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2004 Sampled at Brew Ha Ha 2004. Red-orange in color with a big white head. Thick lacing. Buttered biscuits, cookie malts, and a slight whiff of grapefruity hops in the aroma creates a fantastic balance. Light bitterness in the flavor seems nearly sweet at times. Would like to try this aged to see how it changes. Darkover (1319), Columbus, Ohio, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 23, 2003 Medium amber body with a small white head. It smells very good - a hint of sweetness that compliments the hoppiness. Hoppy flavor, but not as much as I tend to like in my bitters. But this one IS dry and bitter nonetheless. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 5, 2008 POurs an amber color with a small white head. Aroma was of plain malts and some caramel. Flavor was really plain, like most bitters, nothing to write home about at all. TChrome (1303), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2005 Pours cloudy amber with a really nice well retained off white colored head. Aroma is hoppy a bit floral and spicy. Flavor is mildy biscuity on the front then a bit of spicy hops kick in the finish. Another Rogue winner.
