albert_007 (409), Penobsquis, New Brunswick, Canada Oct 13, 2007 Golden, hazy, neat little head. Aroma of spices, and fruit includin banana and oranges. Bitter flavor is nice and the beer is incredibly thirst-qunching.
GreenWall (39), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 3, 2008 Hazy golden, mostly disappearing creamy head. Aroma is strong banana, with the requesite hefe-weizen clove notes. Very nice. Malt profile has strong crackery wheat, but doesn’t have the melanoidin character or the pils sweetness I associate with a weizen. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, goes down easily. Well balanced, well executed. This should be one of their regulars - it makes me want to go to the Rogue’s Roost more often. Geth_in_beer (667), Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 2, 2008 On tap in the Rogues. Little too cloudy for a Weizen. Fruity, spice aroma. Strong in Weizen characteristics. A very good attempt . OKBeer (1104), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Sep 18, 2006 Tap at the brewpub. Hazy golden yellow colour with a mostly diminishing creamy and frothy white head. Lots of banana aroma and flavour with light lemon notes in the aroma, and big lemony acidity throughout the flavour. Finishes dry and lightly acidic. Light to medium bodied, refreshing but firm and somewhat chewy mouthfeel. Tasty and another solid beer from Lorne. jerc (3114), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 17, 2006 Lightly hazy golden yellow with a creamy white head and solid lacing. More clear bodied than previous sample. Big estery banana aroma is on the sweet side. Flavour is sweet banana with a sharp wheaty bit to contrast it. Lacks the elegance of some other hefes, but gets it done quite nicely still. Medium to full palate. Doughy cookie dough notes in the aftertaste. Not bad.
