Muffig hopfiger Antrunk, etwas säuerlich werdend, etwas malzig. Etwas wässrig, bitter, weiter wässriger werdend. Nun erscheint ein leicht röstiger Ton mit einer künstlich wirkenden Fruchtigkeit. Etwas süß, komisch. Nicht unbedingt mein Fall..

Keg, 500ml, at The Non Iron Pub, Krakow. Amber to copper with white head. Initially a little sicky in flavour, but then a richer fruitiness with hints of toffee and biscuity malt fill out the beer. a total surprise to get this on keg in this surprising pub. It’s ok.

draft. shimmering copper body with a rigid, foamy off-white head. toffee / cookie / coffee cake nose is a munich/vienna malt showcase. light touches of vanilla and a minerallic and dry body are particularly enjoyable. lingering just-sweet toffee malt finish. very good polotmavy.

bottle from Galerie Piva Praha. Clear chetsnut-amber colour, large off-white head. Malty with fruity hints, slightly hoppy. Slightly citrusy.

bottle from Pivní Galerie. If one is not too distraced by the lady on the label, one finds out that this is called a ?ezaný letní ležák - a semi-dark summer lager. Clear amber colour, large and fluffy head. Very malty with hints of caramel and a tiny and shy touch of fruit and chocolate. Full-bodied and well balanced with a hoppy background in the finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
My Bottom Line:
Biscuity malts discreetly lead to a spicy, wooden hop presence in this aqueous and quenching Black and Tan of their Svetlé and Tmavé.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the bronzed amber.
-A sulphury splotch distracts from the otherwise pleasant malt presence.
-Those biscuity malts expand into near-caramel sweetness at times.
-When one knows the potential quality of both their Svetlé and Tmavé, one fails to see the purpose of blending the two. They can be so good on their own.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2008 Bottle adorned with a picture of a Czech girl in her pants (see appearance rating). A promising start. Nutty sweet metallic aroma with caramel and sneaking hop leafiness. Clean shining chestnut with a lid of white suds. Caramel, nuts, slight chocolate, rust and biscuit. Finish has some hop bitterness, but too much metal. Safe, caramelised, almost tasty, and very much like a pasteurised malty English bitter. Better than expected.
