Draft at Brewhaus in Springfield. Almost clear dark golden. A decent layer of foam. Some soft noble hops along with grains and pale malts in the nose. That is pretty much what is tasted, too. The hops are a bit grassy and damp. They also add some brightness. As the beer warms a bit of earthy malts emerge. It mixes nicely with those hops. Then a spice pops up. It is akin to red hot candy. Ok, call me a fan of this. I cannot remember a more interesting American lager.
