UPDATED: MAR 22, 2005 Wish I could rate it higher -- not because its that good, but because its been with me like a faithful companion through good times and bad. The cheapest beer I will usually buy, along with PBR, and I would have to say that despite the green bottle Iíve never had a skunky one. At this point, Iíve probably consumed more of these than anything else. If Newcastle was this cheap, though . . .

2003: there is nothing worse than losing an old friend. Not through death: of course that is awful, but what can you do about it? When you must part ways, though, because your friend has become stupid, lacklustre, boring; because you have grown and your friend has stuck with his pedestrian ways; because you search for the finer things in life and your friend is mired in the muck of the lowbrow American anti-intellectual culture, when you find yourself arguing with your friend always, about everything, because heís such a DAMN BLOCKHEAD...but when this friend has given you so much, been there for you for so many years, helped you through good times and bad, easy to find, easy to talk to, ready and willing...well, itís a sad day. A very sad day. Goodbye old friend...I wish I could say Iíll miss you.

An average, overrated beer. I think thereís something about a green bottle that somehow warps peopleís opinions. I actually like this better than the popular Heineken and most mass produced American lagers, but the skunk factor is always present; green bottles just donít cut it. Thereís really no reason to drink this in PA because Yuengling puts this beer to shame. However, the few times I had the draft version, it was pretty good. Very light gold color, the initial taste is enjoyable, but once it passes over the tongue, there is some bitterness. The aftertaste isnít as offensive as, say, MGD, but it definitely detracts from the beer.

Very drinkable with nothing there. Nothing really horrible about this beer at all. What I drink not to get drunk after enjoying real beer.

Pennsylvania has a gem like Yuengling and this crap goes national? Iíd rather drink Beast. At least itís cheaper than this highly overrated garbage. But hey, nice bottle!!
