In many ways not very special. A summer, beach beer if anything. Has kind of a heavy ungodly taste to it if you concentrate too hard. Why is the ABV level so low?, you may wonder. Drink if you're having a good day and its cool outside, otherwise, only drink when desperate or following others' leads. [Edit: all of the previous still stands, but I had Rolling Rock on tap last night, which is particularly better. The flavors and hops (!) jump out much more. So my rating goes up a couple notches as a result.]

The Old Latrobe classic is nice an light and savory for a beer that is so light. This beer got me through senior year of high school. Everyone was a lightweight once in their lives.

(Bottle) Pale clear yellow. Puffy four fingers of white head. Aroma is sharp and metallic, industrial corn and sort of honey. Mouthfeel thin, prickly, dryish and bad. Thin webby rings of lacing. Flavor is corn and paper, maybe a hint of cheap bread. Papery and dull.

On tap everywhere--Pours a yellow straw body with a big white head that soon dies. Skunky pissy grainy nose. Another typical boring lager. No thanks.

Most of the bad ratings come from people who are more concerned with the change of brewing location than the ACTUAL BEER! It has not changed! It smells like a real beer should. It has the perfect amber color which the green bottle highlights all the more. It’s taste is smooth and tickles the senses from the first sip to the last swallow. It leaves you wanting more. If these people were blind testing the rolling rock and had no idea of it’s brewing location they would simply have to agree. Rolling Rock is not all I stock, but there is more Rolling Rock Extra Pale in my fridge than anything else.

Had a friend that drank this all the time, and I finally got to the point where I would bring my own beer anytime I would go to his house, because this was the only thing he would keep at his house. Nasty green bottle skunkiness, clean and crisp on the palate initially as it is really cold, but turns watery, bitter and sour. Too bad about LaTrobe
