2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft @Utsunomiya Gyoza Matsuri. Looks nice clean copper, maybe some red notes. Aroma not so strong but maybe because its still pretty cold (straight from tap). Itís possible to find some cookie sweetness, some mango from the aroma also. Taste is bitter, which is not surprising for an IPA. However, this one leaves a bit rough and unbalanced impression. Itís hoppy for sure but lacks complexity. It seems to be overhopped, so that the bitterness becomes a bit too overwhelming, shadowing all the taste that could have been there before. When beer gets warmer, aroma gets nicer as well, nicely fruity, although still simple. overall, not bad, I like it but not too much.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the brewery. Golden brown colour, small golden head. Aroma is not so strong. Aroma is malty, slight hoppiness, toffee, slightly plastic like. Taste is malty, quite sweet, little bit of citrus in there, quite boozy. Like bit of butter too. Itís alright, and maybe more interesting than most of their beers, but still their godfather is the only outstanding one they have in my opinion.
