The best part is the name and the idea. The rest sucks. Its BLUE, thats it. The rest tastes and smells like blue corn ass. bitbucket (2033), Kirkland, Washington, USA

Romulan ale is supposed to be a particularly strong alcoholic beverage, which may be why it was banned in the Federation for many years. This stuff should be banned for completely different reasons. Still, the bottle is a decent souvenir. richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

I think this is the first beer ever that i wish i had never opened and kept in the bottle. It was blue, first of all, and poured with a bluish tint to the fuzzy head. smell was lots of watery hops, an atypical american pale lager kind of smell and taste...basically pretty awful. just the novelty of it was worth the price of the bottle, but the beer was just plain awful. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 11, 2005 I wavered on the appearance rating for this one; it’s a brilliant, freakish blue only seen in bottles of Gatorade and Berry Blue Jello. Nature, in all her infinite glories, does not have the capacity to produce this color in a beverage. In the end, it’s a ludicrous color, but it’s a pretty color, so it gets a 5. Smells like some malts, not typical harsh or cheap hot weather pale lager. Flavor is somewhat chemical, tastes like they dumped a bunch of food coloring in (which they did). Slightly fruity. Weird stuff, but it does not completely suck. JK (2952), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

Basically a Bad Beer Died Bright Blue for the Sake of Star Trek.. Should Be Noted That the Dye is Potent Enough to Leave Your Mouth and Teeth Blue After Just a Few Sips.

| 0.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Feb 6, 2005 This beer was pretty bad, mostly because of all the blue food coloring dumped in. They put in WAYY more than they had to in order to make it blue. I felt like I was drinking ink. The beer actually smelled beery, and the flavor was like a light blond ale. I stopped drinking pretty early on so I wouldn’t stain my teeth blue for life. Scary. badgerben (3599), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Like Wawood said, it torched my mouth blue. Some not too evil grainy aroma, but it turns bad in the taste. It has that year-old grain silo thing going. Definitely something for the novelty aspect. Thanks Slik!
