2/I/14 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: 19/IV/15 (2014-8)

Clear deep orange beer, big creamy irregular white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: orange peel, some citrus, sugary, cake or cookie dough. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: bit sourish, citrus, bitter hops, fruity notes, some overripe fruits, malty, honey. Aftertaste: some almond cookies, bit lemony, sugar, somewhat bitter, nice dry ending, slightly fruity. Deep down, Iím a still a chauvinist Belgian that likes a good Belgian style tripel, I guess.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 14/08/2015. Almost clear golden, creamy white head. Nose is actually carries some fruity hops, sweet BE yeast, some white bread & touch candy sugar, sweet. Taste is fruity (not getting hops sadly), sweet candy sugar, white bread, candy sugar, honey, very sugary peaches, very sweet, syrupy. Touch sparkling. Way too sweet & carries a typical very sweet BE profile, actually not too bad for what it is.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a high, puffy, long-lasting head and lace. Nose is savory -- mushrooms, worcestershire sauce, and toasted grain. Dry and rich on the tongue -- more of the meatiness and worcestershire balanced with rusks and a touch of herbal. Almost no phenols. I like this, but itís unusual for the style.

330ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Belgian Weeks 2009)
Stodgy grainy aroma - like a bio. Anna says camphor. Mushroom and kidneys on swallowing. Decent malty body, Quite assertive hops. Long finish - buddy hops - very nice. It was initially a bit vegetal, some DMS, but this turned out to be a really good full-bodied tripel, with a good range of fulsome tastes. Very tasty.

Bottle. Large fin bubbled white head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Cloudy golden color. Aroma of citrus, spice, fruit, yeast, coriander. Over the palate came caramel, spicy notes and again fruity notes. Medium bodied with a lively carbonation and mild alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with mild bitter and acidic notes. Spicy sweet fruity finish.
