COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!

(Rooie Dop Chica Americana IPA) Can’t believe I haven’t rated this one, pretty sure I had it a couple of times, glad I found another bottle. Bottling date 12/11/14, 330 ml bottle served into a shaker, ABV 7.1% Dark orange to light amber coloured body, clear, with a tall but frithy off-white head, with low retention. Aroma has caramel ,malts, faint citrus, faint orange, spicy yeast. Taste is bitter with citrus, orange peel, pine, caramel malts, biscuit. Medium thin body, carbonation on the high side. Okay I’d say.

Quite hazy amber colour. Nice aroma with caramel, fruit and some grass. Taste is well balanced, but quite light for IPA. Notes of citrus, wood, some hay, caramel. Strongly too much carbonisation - runs out of bottle. Nice beer, but carbo ruins it.

Tap at Erzbierschof. By the listed ABV, it’s actually the retired one. Sweetish aroma, but rather mellow for an IPA. Taste us very balanced and smooth, making it very pleasant to drink. Not the most interesting one by aroma, but worth a try for balance.

The sweet, fruity and slight herbal aromas counterbalance the bitterneess, wich gives a complete and well-balanced feel to the beer. A great take on an IPA.

Bottle 33cl. Hazy medium amber, large foamy off-white head, diminishes slowly, patchy lacing; fruity nose, peach, lemon, pine, bit caramel, grass; taste medium sweet and bitter, fruity, citrusy; medium body, oily texture, smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation, aftertaste dry bitter, bit dusty, spicy notes; very nice.

Den Haag Rootz, 25-09-2015 met Lou Lekkere IPA. Fruitige reuk. Redelijk veel hop met bittere nasmaak die lang blijft hangen. Lekker maar niets bijzonders. Vette naam, mooi etiket maar gebrouwen bij de Molen.
