At Rooie Dop, we donít really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just canít resist a Chica Americana!

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy dark copper color, medium white head. Aroma citrus, sweet fruits, biscuit, belgian yeast in the nose, grapefruit, more fruit, soap, quinine flavor. Taste light sweetness, heavy medicine bitterness, salty notes. Refreshing, full body, thin feel, sticky texture, average carbonation, very strong and long lasting overdosed bitter finish. Itís a hardcore bitter IPA which seems to be the style of Rooie Dop. The Difference from "Ot the explorer" that this is a bit more fruity especially the smell. Good if you like that bitterness stays in your mouth until you drink or eat something else. At the end Iím still not sure if itís delicious or just brutal.:)

Amber kleurig bier met dunne kraag. Aromo is fris, mango. Smaak is bitter, fruitig, mooi in balans.

One of the best IPAs for me. Very strong aroma. Taste is very fruity and has lots of malts. Bitter aftertaste, but not too much

Bottle, 01/02/14, bottled 29/05/12. Pours a hale orange with a large, thick, off-white head. Aroma is pretty muted, some fruitiness, some caramel. Taste is caramel, English liquorice, a bit gluey, some fruitiness, ethanolic. Not that good though the bottle is old, even though within their promised "best within two years". Strong carbonation, fairly full.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 My all-time favorite. Though the quality is not as stable as I would like it to be. Bodily. Lotís of citrus. Donít take this as your first beer.

0,33L bottle, bottled 02.09.13. Pours hazy amber with huge white head. The head stays. Aroma is intense citrus, vegetables, hints of pine. Taste: fruits, vegetables, caramel, orange, pine. Finish is rather long bitter with some tartness and noticeable but pleasant alcohol. Overall: not a bad beer and rather easy to drink, but I just hate the vegetable flavor and aroma.Hence I canít give higher rating.

Mooie amberkleur met een dikke witte schuimkraag . Ruikt hoppig. Smaakt lekker bitter. Lekker!

0.33L bottle. Yeasty raw white bread, light citrus aroma. Rotten vegetables at first, modest grapefruit and rotten orange. Light caramel tone is felt. Yes something is rotten. Good bitter end, what I really love. Peculiar and interesting beer.
