At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!

Full on orange haze, bubbly white ringed head. Cheesy and cheesecakey sweet with a nose bag of pines. Stumbling lime, almost minty, green green green hops. Terse carbonation and a bit sticky as it warmed. Ruling sweet maltiness throughout but overall a cheesy bitterness rakes any enjoyment and juiciness out by the finish. Again with the cooling mint hop bitterness on the linger.
I managed most of the bottle and things improved, but I wonder if this batch is vastly different from most of the 6+ months ago rates.

Barwa: jasny bursztyn, początkowo klarowna. Piana biała drobno pęcherzykowa, szybko opadająca i utrzymująca się jedynie na ściankach. Aromat: wybitnie chmielowy (cytrusy). silny i przyjemny.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy amber body with a thin white head. Light carbonation. Excellent lacing. Aroma of lemon, grass and grapefruit. Flavour of Parma Violet sweets, grape and bitter blood orange. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. A lovely IPA.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy dark copper color, medium white head. Aroma citrus, sweet fruits, biscuit, belgian yeast in the nose, grapefruit, more fruit, soap, quinine flavor. Taste light sweetness, heavy medicine bitterness, salty notes. Refreshing, full body, thin feel, sticky texture, average carbonation, very strong and long lasting overdosed bitter finish. It’s a hardcore bitter IPA which seems to be the style of Rooie Dop. The Difference from "Ot the explorer" that this is a bit more fruity especially the smell. Good if you like that bitterness stays in your mouth until you drink or eat something else. At the end I’m still not sure if it’s delicious or just brutal.:)

One of the best IPAs for me. Very strong aroma. Taste is very fruity and has lots of malts. Bitter aftertaste, but not too much

Bottle, 01/02/14, bottled 29/05/12. Pours a hale orange with a large, thick, off-white head. Aroma is pretty muted, some fruitiness, some caramel. Taste is caramel, English liquorice, a bit gluey, some fruitiness, ethanolic. Not that good though the bottle is old, even though within their promised "best within two years". Strong carbonation, fairly full.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2014 My all-time favorite. Though the quality is not as stable as I would like it to be. Bodily. Lot’s of citrus. Don’t take this as your first beer.
