At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!

Draught. Pours amber, quite clear, white quickly minimized head. Aroma of citrus fruits, malt backgrounf, but only a little. In taste citrus hoppy bitterness, very bitter actually with just a little of malt base to balance the beer, quite dry. A little to much carbonated. Quite unbalanced, but the description kinda promissed that.

Upea tuoksu, jossa ainakin aprikoosia. Meripihkan värinen olut, jossa kestävä beige vaahto. Maussakin tuntuu aprikoosi. Suutuntuma keskitäyteläinen, miellyttävä. Kaiken kaikkiaan hyvä olut. Suosittelen.

Bottle@toit’s. Orange hazy. Us hoppy, hop glandy nose with pine, biscuity caramels. Light med body. Bitter, dry finish. Bit messy though, feels homebrewy. Yeasty leftovers. Decent, but not great pa. Good intensity on the flavours that are there.

Hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, light malts, some pine. Flavour is fruity and hoppy with a nicely lasting bitter finish. Very tasty and refreshing, an excellent IPA!

On tap at 2014 Oregon Brewers Fest. Colour...golden amber with a thin ecru head. Nose...dusty orchard fruits and sooty hops. Palate...delightfully full and lush with plenty of mango and star fruit to go with the pulpy feel. There’s citrus and kiwi as well as plenty of lemon curd. The finish is moderately long and slightly dry with lingering hop resin. Nicely done, Mark!

(Drinking date: 25 July 2014) The aroma is really nice, really fruity, hoppy. You smell pineapple and grapefruit and other citrussy things. Really delicious. The beer also looks delicious. Hazy orange beer with a frothy layer of foam, which stays on the beer. The taste is really bitter with in the end just a little bit of sweetness, also really delicious. The mouthfeel is good. A slightly thicker body with medium carbonation. Overall a really good beer!! That’s why I give it the total score of 4.0!

On draught at 27th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival. Amber golden. Aroma is caramel and light tropical fruit. Taste is caramel, guava, mango, and orange. Well-balanced, non-bitter finish.

Thanks to Rian for sharing! Fresh-floral in the nose. The beer starts very minty, which doesn’t really fit into the fresh hoppy citrus aroma. The aftertaste is minty-menthol-fresh, slightly bitter, not too sweet. 10/12/10/10

Bottle from Dranken Geers. Orange colour, a lot of creamy white foam. Aroma is grassy with grapefruit and pine. Light sweet, bitter aftertaste. Unfortunately too much carbonation.
