At Rooie Dop, we don’t really care about styles. But this is our version of an American IPA. Classic example of the style? Fits perfectly into the category? No. Does it need to be? It just needs to be pretty tasty! Chinook and Cascade hops dominate this beer and are assisted by a biscuity malty backbone. You just can’t resist a Chica Americana!

FC Nordsjælland vs. Chelsea FC Champions League football night tasting in Odense, October 2012. Mild gushing. Hazy golden with a big white head. Fruity and yeasty aroma with a spicy and minerally touch. Sweetish yeasty flavour with some fruity hops and a nice bitter finish

Pours hazy amber with white lacing head. Classic IPA aromas of citrus fruit, malts. Nice bitter hoppy flavours, pineapple, biscuity malt backbone, slightly spicy, dry bitter finish. Really nice, easy drinking IPA.

Wasn’t too enthusiastic about this IPA. Not too bad but apart from a bit hoppy taste there isn’t much more to it.

Bottle 0,33L. Hazy copper colour with huge, soapy, frothy, long lasting, off-white head. It’s actually hard to sip it in the glass, because of so much foam. Aroma is very hoppy and fruity - peach, maracuja, tangerine. There is also some caramel as well. Taste is medium to heavy bitter with a lot of grassy, herbal, spicy contents. It’s good, but kinda messy and not so balanced. Sweet in one moment and bitter in the other. So much happening in there. A bit too much of everything...

Bottle. Hazy brown gold with a large foam. Aromas are background toffee malts with brown sugar and citrus rind. Pineapple and pithy grapefruit with white grape skin. Yeasty with creamy oakiness. Flavours are lime with pithy, bitter grapefruit and multigrain. Earthy with herbal notes and woody yeast. Sweet toffee with green pine and juicy grapefruit. Resinous and herbal on the palate. Very nice.

33cl bottle. Pours hazy light brown, almost orange, with light white head, good lacing. Aromas of pine, sneaking alcohol and grass. Taste is heavily bitter, a bit of sweet maltiness and hint of alcohol. Little to none carbonation, hence the oily feeling. Aftertaste is nice sliding hoppy heaven bitterness. Decent IPA, but maybe not so fresh anymore.

Bottle from the Fyne Ales brewery shop. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a big foamy cream head. The aroma is sweet pineapple. The taste is pineapple too with light spice. There’s a long bitter finish. Nice caramel malt notes in the background. Tasty.
