smells like oatmeal, vegetables, with a touch of bourbon. Bourbon is more pronounced in the mouth, moderately sweet malty, full body, roasty, slightly syrupy. Fairly well done, but probably could age a bit longer to dry out.

Bottle. Thick, syrupy, opaque blaque pour with the richest, creamiest brown foam I’ve seen in a while. Aroma is quite bourbony, rich vanilla, bourbon sweetness, coffee, dark chocolate, oak, there is also something a tad off as well though, something slightly metallic perhaps, cheesy, anyways very light. Taste is rich, very bourbon forward, sweet, syrupy, nice roastiness, good warming alcohol. Palate is rich, good carbonation to even things out a bit. Really tasty RIS.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2014 Deep dark / black colour with brown head... vanishes after a while. Smells like bourbon with chocolate. Tastes of Lakrisal, anice, fennel and chocolate. Wooden bourbon touch. Dry and sweet almost like cherries. Heavy alcohol flavour, but not to much! It’s like a dessert :D

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2014 (Bottling date: 4 March 2013) (Drinking date:10 January 2014). Pitchblack color, no light comes throug it. A thin layer of beige, creamy foam. Aromas: pure chocolate, sweet aroma, roasted malt, raisins a little bit of alcohol, licorice. Carbonaton: just a little bit. Really fine bubbles at the side of the glass. Taste: bitter. Sweet. Pure chocolate. Burned/roasted malt. Figs. Texture: a little bit too watery. It has to be just a little bit thicker, like syrup. That would have made this beer perfect. This is a really good, tastefull beer!!

Bottle at home, thanks to an IP trade with Ronny (rlgk), 29/12/13. Pitch black with a good sized tan head that dissipates then stays for the show. Nose is subtle bourbon, rich toffee fudge, cocoa, toasted marshmallow, light roast. Taste comprises light roast, chocolate, well pitched bourbon, dark toffee fudge, brown sugars, charred wood. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, sweet closure with a nice level of bourbon going off. This is a really slick and well made BA impy, good balance, never too hot, never too sweet and cloying, I’d return to this one anytime!
