0,33 l bottle, DeMolen Shop.
Poured deep black with a minimal beige head, some laces on the surface. Powerful aroma of caramel, molasses, alcohol from bourbon, cask and burnt wood. Oily body with a huge ammount of alcohol, the bourbon rules the beer with some smoke and burnt wood, molasses and coffee, candy sugar and ash. A bit "too much"

Bottle at home 10th November 13. Pours an impressive dark liquid, little head, but some. Great, heady aroma, liquorice, tar, leather. From that very first taste you know this is great, massive flavour, perfect, low carbonation, smooth as silk on the palate, flavours are all there, sweet smooth, with the right amount of bourbon to complement the base beer. Excellent

PotjeBier (1603) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 8, 2013
33 cl bottle @ home, on International Stout Day. Almost black color. Beige to light brown head, quickly receding. Aroma’s: bourbon, vanillevla, oak, with roasted malts, chocolate (-milk) and hints of red fruit retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, vanilla, bourbon. Alcohol feel is rather strong. Medium bodied, velvetty mouthfeel. Long finish, moderate bitter, bitter chocolate. Lovely stuff!

Bottle from "hannont’s" glorious trip to visit his in laws in the Nederlands. Colour...basic black with a thick tan head. Nose...imagine roasted cocoa infused with chocolate liqueur and Bourbon! Palate...smooth, luscious, and velveteen with bitter almond, Bourbon liqueur, oaky dryness and cocoa mass. This beer brings the oatmeal to an entirely new level of existence, yo!

Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. Remarkably the bourbon barrelling has completely calmed down the awful tang of the base beer. Woody and fruity bourbon and dry dark chocolate. Smooth dark malt underneath. Finishes smooth and dry. So very much better than it’s base beer, remarkable gap!

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma and flavour is vanilla, liquorice, bourbon, roasted malt, and chocolate – with a bitter finish.

33cl bottle (Bottling date 4 March 2013) bought at one of their pub nights at their brewdungeon. Pitch black pour with fine brown head. The bourbon needs some air to be a bit less overpowering and temperature is also important; to cold (<10 °C) and it leaves no room for other aromas to be tasted. Very difficult to tell if I prefer the standard DOS over the Barrel Aged one, especially after tasting a DOS which was bottle aged for 2 years. Maybe I’ll put a DOS BBA away for two years...

Draughtt BBF13 - pours deep black with a tiny firm fine off-white head. Incredibly rich aroma of roasted malts and nice vanilla touches. Chocolate and coffee in the flavour. Very nice stout. Hope to get this again very soon!

Bottle my father got me from bierkoning in Amsterdam. Many thanks! Also my 2000th rating. I considered rating a Prairie saison or an All in brewing / Beerbliotek collaboration as my rating 2000 but a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout never goes wrong, no? pours reddish black dark wooden brown with a rather small dark reddish mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is malty and boozy with roasted malts, vanilla fudge, bourbon, high quality dark chocolate, salty liquorice candy, alcohol, burnt cookies, caramel, charred wood, heavily roasted almost burnt nuts, liquorice fudge, moist soil, coffee grounds and hints of raisins and dates. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, malty, boozy and tiny fruity with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, salty liquorice candy, vanilla fudge, burnt cookies, burnt caramel, bitter chocolate, charred wood, bourbon, moist soil, graham crackers, sweet liquorice candy and hints of smoke, burnt raisins, dates and alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, round, boozy, tiny roasted astringent and near full bodied. Finish is bitter, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt cookies, charred wood, vanilla fudge, sweet liquorice candy, cocoa powder, bourbon, roasted nuts and moist soil. Very tasty but for some reason I had hoped for more. Still very tasty though, don’t forget that.

So that’s 2000... Cheers! And thank you all who’ve helped me this far.
