A strong taste is provided by chocolaty and roasted malts, which are combined with soft smoothness from the oats. Add up a little bitterness from Columbus hops and you’ll get a dangerously drinkable Double Oatmeal Stout!

Malts: Pale, flaked oats, Cara, Black, Special B, roasted barley.
Hops: Columbus, Saaz

@ Sergio’s / Louisville KY --- Opaque black color, bubbly rim head, light dots of lace. Taste is toasted malt along with light bitter chocolate that smoothly progresses to a balanced finish. Really quite simple, but very satisfying.

Pours a dark brown beer with a good tan head. Smells dried fruits, bit metal, vanilla. Tastes coffee, chocolate, silkey and dried fruits. Nice. I love the smoothiness. Average carbo, medium body and a oily texture.

Bottle from DeMolen. Pours lovely dark with caramel head. Smells of dark toasted malt and tastses of chocolate and coffee. Could do with some wood maturing but is smooth as it is.

Pours very black with a shy mocha head. Strong chocolate liquor aromas with biscuity notes. Medium to full body, low carbonation, pleasant cocoa flavors, with some tar and blackstrap molasses, finish is smooth oatmeal silky feeling. Pretty easy drinking for such a big beer. Could take more body a bit but...nice.

Late but not asleep for once. Daaaark choco, blueberries, sea salt, raspberry, deep roast is kind of there, oatmeal, just simple smells insanely dark. Tasty, better nearing room temp. Berries and sweet, dry roasted bitterness, oatmeal, raspberry, choco, tartness. Interesting. Ashy mouth.

Pours a very dark brown with some light coming through, small beige head and a touch of lace. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, and coffee. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, tobacco, faint alcohol and coffee. Really well balanced

Pours an opaque black with a small brown head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, light citrus hops and sweet cocoa. Taste is chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, light bitter citrus hops and a wicked slick mouthfeel giving it a coffee and cream like feel. Slight alcohol warming and full body make this dangerous beer easy to drink.

Pours black with a nice fluffy beige head. Aromas are coffee, cocoa and roasted grains. Very intense flavours of espresso, dark chocolate and almost burnt malt. Very rich mouthfeel with the oatmeal giving it a nice smooth finish. Very good, but a little overpowering.

Bottle, black pour, can’t see through the glass, very small head, a bit of brown a bit of white, not much to see but tiny bubbles and a thin layer that coats the top. Very intense aroma, strong hints of anise, nutty, light hops. chocolate, and coffee. Taste, thin mouthfeel, somewhat hoppy up front, almost a bit sour, followed by a hint of sweetness, finishes exceptionally smooth and lingers with a hint of bitterness. No hint of the booze really, I like it but the aroma had me thinking I’d get a lot more complexity, that being said it is freakishly drinkable for such a big beer, it would be interesting to try this blind with some regular oatmeal stouts.
