Bottle from Asahiya. Rich caramel, fragrant cleaning solution or soap, near pungent hopping, good citrus/pine. Hazy copper/amber color, filmy head, good lace. Initial is as advertised by the aroma, rich sweet caramel, peaches. The hopping enters unobtrusively and intensifies and melds with the caramal to a distinct fruitiness. Medium-heavy body. Flavor-packed, but very gentle and smooth. Great.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Orange amber, creamy white head. Nose is metallic & very bitter pine resin. Very oily taste, big bitterness, resin, light candy sugar, oily pine, lingering bitterness. Very oily body. Bit straightforward & mainly just bitter, good, could be better.

Sampled draught @ Tilburg Bierfestival 2013. Ah, a fresh & new IIPA from these guys. Hazy orange with a big creamy tanned head. Nose is big fresh grapefruit hops, almost worth (this one should be very recently brewed), light caramel, oily, pine, some malts,… Taste is bitter grapefruit mixed with thick caramel, toffee, brown sugar, hop oil, pine resin, bitter spices, creamy, pine flowers, lingering. Mouth feel is quite a bit thicker with a bit more malt bone than expected & preferred but still excellent stuff.

Iets kruidig of medicinaal. Misschien is het bier al over zijn hoogtepunt heen (bottledatum november 2013), maar ik kan het wel waarderen zo.

On tap @ Borefts 2013. A really deep cloudy orange-ish looking one with a small islandy and light sidesticking white top. The nose has a mild piney hoppy bitterness to it. I get some canned fruits here with a little bit of sweetness as well. Not sticking it’s head out to far, but it’s a safe and solid dipa aroma. Quite malty and sweet at first in the taste. I get a good amount of honey and piney hops. It has a good oily mouthfeel and a average prickling carbonation level. Ends with sweet honey also and Lingering almost a warming sensation in to the aftertaste. Light dry on the tongue after the swallow. All in all a solid one. 28.09.2013

Cloudy orange color. Aroma of oranges and hops. Strangely malty and sweet on the front; the bitterness of the hops only comes in at the end. It is not nearly as bitter as a standard IPA, in my mouth. The harsh bitterness of the palate at the end detracts a bit, but otherwise this is pretty tasty and fruity.

Pours opaque brown-amber with a bit of particulate matter in suspension. Lots of floral and citrus notes in the aroma. Medium body. Lots of burn on the finish, both from the alcohol and lively carbonation. Dry but not sticky, and bitter.

Bottle at home from ales by mail
Hazy mid amber , cream lacing, rich Seville marmalade, floral rose petals and pine sap on nose. Full bodied intensely bitter with residual sweetness. Pine and pith it’s aged well but a little too caramalt heavy for me. Lowish carbonation.
