3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, bottled 22/11/13. Lightly hazy orange/copper pour, flat pour (very thin veil of white head formed slowly). Aroma is fruity, resinous, yeasty notes, quite a bit of caramel, pear and grapefruit. Has a bit of a homebrew twang to it that isnít bad, just a little strange. Taste is quite potent, boozy, very bitter, light caramel flavors that unfortunately canít uphold the alcohol or IBUs. Palate is full bodied, with light carbonation. Lots of potential here, but the under carbed palate and over-boozy/over-bitter flavor bring this beer down a bit.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, 330 ml. Poured into a tulip at home. ABV 8.7%
Pours a dark orange copper colour, hazy body. One finger of off-white head on top, with okay retention. Big bubbles islands on the surface and light lacing left behind, after the head collapsed.
Aromas of malts, aromatic hops, pine, orange peel.
Taste is bitter from the beginning and becomes even more bitter on the aftertaste. Malt sweetness on the finish balances it a bit. Hints of alcohol, orange peel and zest, pine, grapefruit, some tropical fruits.
Medium thin body, low carbonation.
Overall very good!

Aroma: Apricot, tropical fruit and an undertone of alcohol. Slight floral and caramel notes.
Appearance: Red-amber, hazy with minimal/no head.
Taste: Sweet with an alcohol hotness, subtle bitterness and limited hop characteristics. Develops a dank aftertaste.
Palate: Medium bodied with a sticky texture, medium carbonation and a hot finish.
Overall: Either an old bottle or they forgot the hops. Disappointing.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This only gets a relatively low grade because of the aroma and appearance, not a fan of the murky orange. But apart from this the beer gives yoy everything you would expect from a Rooie Dop beer. Great bitterness and flavor with an extra bitter kick in the aftertaste. Bottle from Burg Bieren Ermelo.

24th August 2013
Very hazy gold - amber beer. Good size bubbly cream coloured head. Light palate, semi dry with modest carbonation. Light malt, semi dry. The hops are vibrantly fruity. Lovely orange, tangerine and blood orange. Clementine and satsuma lovliness too! Mild touches of pith and lemon. Finishes soft and semi dry. Wonderful flavour, if the palate was better it would be mid 4s!
