We love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. It’s one of the little things that put a smile on our face. Using delicate ingredients like Guatemala Antigua coffee, brown malts and Saaz hops, we created this dark coffee-infused beer. It will be the smile you need to break the daily grind.

Bottle @ unibaren, 20/7 2013. Dark brown, big tan head, nice lacing. Aroma, roasted malts, a lot of coffee, caramel, . Taste, roasted malts, coffee, a sourness that probably shouldn’t be there, . Sour aftertaste, with coffee notes. Don’t know if it was infected, but there was something wrong.

The head is medium, body black. It smells coffee, chocolate sweet, soft, intensive. The taste is chocolate, sweet, a bit creamy, bitter-chocolate, intensive and special. 12/12/12/12/13/12

I picked this up at Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgium, June 2013 consumed in the main field at Cropredy Fairport festival Saturday 10th August 2013 Pours dark brown with v.little head, crikey this smells so much of coffee, ah.. I get the double meaning of the name now. This is amazingly coffee like, perhaps a little one dimensional, but very good, the most coffeeish beer I’ve ever had by some margin. A7 A3 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Bottle at Rooie Dop, Utrecht at the RBESG 2013 opening night. Poured a deep mahogany with a broken tan head. The aroma is a weak dusty malt with some citrus notes in the background. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with lots of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and liqourice in the finish. There is some alcohol in there, but it stays well in the background. I really liked this beer.

33cl bottle. Deep dark brown colour with a huge light brown creamy head. Lots of vanilla an chocolate notes on the nose, with some roasted malts as well...really nice. On the other hand, the flavour is mostly coffee, also including hints of chocolate and vanilla. Some hops in the back, but not incredibly bitter since it’s possible to get the sweetness. The mouthfeel is clearly creamy, carbonation is a bit high. Very enjoyable overall, could be perfect fixing some details.

Bottle split with Josh at the Cask, Pimlico, 13/06/13. Light black with a thin tan head which clears to a film. Nose carries rich espresso roast, dark fruits, little clues that it was infected. Taste comprises sour notes, infected, coffee, lactic tones. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sour finish. Meh. We had 2 bottles of this, the 2nd was just the same and carried floaties. Don’t like to rate infected beers but worth it to warn others, there are many breweries which I’ve never had any such issues with, others seem to be regular offenders.

Tap. Black colour, small tan head, which collapses with time completely. Nose is of roasted coffeebeans. The aroma is ruled by roasted malt underpainted by cherries and toffee. Mouthfeel is slick and somewhat thin. Medium to long roasty finish escorted by spices and gently warming alcohol. Overall not bad, but a bit thin…

(bottle) pours black in colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of heavy coffee beans and earth, with a hint of vanilla, light honey, hazelnuts, treebark and starchy pale malts. flavour is mostly stale coffee filters, hazelnuts and toasted malts, with a hint of ash, more hazelnuts, a light sweetness and a slightly tart light roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.
