COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. It’s one of the little things that put a smile on our face. Using delicate ingredients like Guatemala Antigua coffee, brown malts and Saaz hops, we created this dark coffee-infused beer. It will be the smile you need to break the daily grind.

Fles gedeeld met rikstar. Zeer donker bier. Geur is koffie, laurier. Smaak is apart, complex, lekker, niet lekker, vreemd. Ik vind em oke maar ben blij dat ik het flesje deel.

Dutch coffee porter with Guatemala coffee. Moussy and fairly thick, lacing, yellow beige head, eventually dissipating completely, over a very dark mahogany coloured beer, hazy, blackish at first but still well transparent. Strong, aromatic, tangy bouquet of indeed coffee beans and espresso, beautifully mingled with dark baker’s chocolate, smoked meat, bayleaf, dried grapefruit peel, black tea, beef broth, candied figs, dried plums, baked banana, kahlua, black pepper, cumin seed, cocoa powder and a touch whisky. Smooth, creamy onset of candied fruits but only restrainedly sweet, dried stonefruit and raisins, deep basic sourishness with a certain dried lemon peel quality to it, soft carbo, oily and supple, ’fatty’ mouthfeel but not too viscous, nice toasted, caramelly, nutty and eventually more and more chocolatey maltiness, layered but not too demanding, accompanied by a gentle coffee flavour in the end, warm and roasted, juicy still with a subtle candied sweetness all along; finish also has peppery hop bitterness and nice smooth caramel plus a touch smokiness and ’meatiness’. Alcohol remains perfectly hidden. Lovely porter, and the coffee does add an extra layer of flavour; there are no off-flavours either. Clearly well thought out, I like this a lot.

330ml bottle pours black in color with a finger of light brown head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is coffee and dark roasted grains with hints of dark chocolate. Taste is a roasted grain and pronounced coffee bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a little bit dominant in coffee flavor (I am not a fan of coffee), but overall, a quality crafted brew and worth checking out, that is if you like coffee.

Bottle in the Marketplace Ale House, Doncaster. deep brown with a thin cream head. Sweet chocolate and coffee aroma. The taste is sweet coffee. A little cola too. Soft carbonation leaving it feeling a touch thin. Very tasty otherwise.

Pitch black with medium head. Espresso, excessive in aroma and taste. Very long bitter aftertaste. A bit too much bitter coffee.

Draught. Black in colour, beige creamy head. Aroma of black malts, caramel, ash and very distinct notes of coffee which could be of a bit better quality. In taste semi sweet, roasty from coffee with acidic finish. Medium bodied, medium bitterness. Nice stout.

Don’t know why i didn’t rate this, but drank a few of them.. not too much. It’s a bit too much cappucino. The coffee quality seems to be poor. It’s too sweet and and like a cheap coffee with a decent nice dark beer. A pity..

Vom Fass. Der Geruch erinnert sehr an kalten Kaffee und frisch geschnittenes Efeu (junges Bier?). Der Geschmack ist dann ausgeprägt nach kaltem, altem Kaffee.

Aromat: przyjemny akcent kawy mielonej. lekka kwaskowość i słodycz, melanoidyny, czekolada. Barwa: brązowa / czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, obfita i utrzymująca się. Smak: niewielka słodycz, złamana kwaskowością (która pod koniec trochę przeszkadza), plus wytrawny charakter kawy i ciemnych słodów z palnością, wręcz popiołem. Mocno kawowe. Na minus lekka nutka metaliczna. Goryczka jest wyczuwalna, ale pochodzi raczej ze słodu i kawy niż chmielu. Średnia pełnia, umiarkowane do wysokiego wysycenie, kawowo- kwaskowy i lekko alkoholowy finisz.
