3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2013 Bottled, courtesy of caesar. Black appearance, beige head. Aroma is dominated by fresh coffee, very nice, some roasted malts. Quite bitter flavor, coffee less dominant but still obvious present, roasted malts, chocolate. In contrast to several other other coffee stouts, this one does not have a creamy mouthfeel at all, it’s quite thin bodied. Bitter finish, not only hops but also because of the coffee i guess. I prefer a little bit more body, but it’s still a very nice easy to drink beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Everything you want, flavour-wise from a coffee stout, lots of coffee complimented by the bitterness and flavour of the hops. Mouth feel is good, lots of body and gentle carbonation. Absolutely no head after a minute and not much aroma. Damn good for the style though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
New Beer Distributors, NYC 11.2oz ($4): Pours black with a creamy brown head. Aroma is a whole load of coffee grounds, plenty of chocolate. Taste is coffee grounds and plenty of them. Light bitterness and light chocolate flavors are in here too. This is not my favourite kind of coffee stout, but I liked it enough for what it tried to do.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Drinking date: 24 March 2014) Very black beer, no light shines through. A layer of creamy beige foam. Looks delicious. Aromas of metal, coffee burned malts, caramell and alcohol. I don’t like the aromas that much. However the taste is much better actually!! It starts refreshing with a taste of coffee, and then a slightly bit of sourness comes in. During the whole time you taste the burned/roasted malts. The aftertaste is a long-lasting coffee-bitterness, with a slightly bit of sour, which makes this beer really refreshing overall actually! The mouthfeel is perfect. It has an average carbonation, and a watery body, which makes this beer really refreshing overall. The beer is not heavy to drink, it has a refreshing sourness in it, and a good watery body which makes it easy to drink. But still it has a lot of flavour, which makes this a really good beer overall! That’s why I give it the total score of 3.9!
