COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The city and province of Utrecht has got a great history (and future) of brewing beer. It deserves a beer that shows our appreciation and what more could we do than make this Utrecht Strong Ale. Big hops dominate the aroma and big malts support them in taste. Put your hands up for Utrecht, we love that city!

Hazy copper/amber with a tan, beige, lasting, beautifully creamy head. Wonderful smell of hops – pine, grapefruit citrus fills the nose. Caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit (apples, peaches, red berries) and flowers. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. The sweetness of caramel, berries – strawberries, malt, is very well balanced against the super hoppy herbal, flowers, grapefruit and grass bitter dry finish. Complex. Alcohol is present with light warming. A fantastic beer and very well balanced.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with huge orangey head. The aroma has notes of flowers, spicy hops, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, flowers, alcohol, malt, phenols, and caramel, leading to dry finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Tap @ UBF ’13. Red colored, slightly hazy. Head has both big & small bubble, some lacing. Aroma’s: red fruit, resin, caramel. Retronasal it’s resin/citrus, fruit, high alpha acid. Flavor is medium sweet, bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes somewhat dry, rather bitter. A bit strange, maybe not so balanced, but tasty. I like it.

33cl bottle from dranken Geers in Oostakker. Dark orang, amber body. Almost no head. Aroma of resins, malts and some yeast hints. Taste is rather sweet caramel, light roasted malts and a nice bitterness of the hops light alcohol hint. ****

Pours a golden orange beer with a good white head. Smells good. Fruity. The taste is nice. I like strong beers. Good bitter finish.

The head should maybe be some bigger and hold some longer. But besides that this beer is not bad at all. Taste hops, and with a nice malt background. Decent brew!

Bottle thanks to Erik !

Head: off white, foamy/creamy
Colour: dark amber
Smell: grassy at first but then some malts and a bit of sweetness comes in, ever so slight bitterness, bready
Taste: bready in the start, then comes in some subtle saltyness, and then loads of bitterness that comes from everywhere ! ( malts/yeast/hops ) , hop is deffinitly strong in this beer altough it’s not refined or let me say not a clear taste of a specific kind of hop, end is very dry and aftertaste grassy, very good brew !

Somewhat hazy darke ruby with small off-white foam head. Aroma is strong hoppy. Taste is nice bitter, some alcohol. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201304)

A beer that does almost everything right. Great fruity and hoppy aroma, flavors follow the nose in a briliant way. Good moutfeel, easy to drink despite the 9.1%. Readily available to me and I’m so happy for it.

Pours a deep amber / brow, with a small head. Very citrus hoppy aroma with passion fruit, mango & orange squash. Well balanced with the malt profile and the abv well hidden. seems more like an Imperial IPA to me, and a good one.
