COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The city and province of Utrecht has got a great history (and future) of brewing beer. It deserves a beer that shows our appreciation and what more could we do than make this Utrecht Strong Ale. Big hops dominate the aroma and big malts support them in taste. Put your hands up for Utrecht, we love that city!

Transparent red-brown beer with no carbonation and a nice foamy head. Smell is sweet orange, peaches and grapefruit. Subtle caramel in the background giving it a rotten fruit feel. Lightly alcoholic. Taste is full bitter sourness with a refreshing finish. The bitterness is fruity, mainly grapefruit peel, but develops into something a bit more coffee-like. Fizzy and warm, with an oily feel to it.

Bottle from Todd. Thanks! A: Cloudly copper, thin off-white head, good lacing. N: Pineapple, mango, crystal sugar, caramel, toffee. T: Very sweet, not cloying. Fruit flavors. M: sticky and medium heavy. O:Damn good and one of my favorites of the night. Closer to a barleywine than a strong ale, and a beer I’d gladly have again.

Bottle shared by Todd, thanks! Pours a somewhat murky dark copper color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity nose, some yeast and caramel. The flavor is great: dry yeast, hay, lemons, very malty and dry. Toffee and soft caramel. Good brew. Sort of like an English Strong.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2014 Pours a murky copper/amber colour with a beige head. Complex aroma of yeast, malts, citrus fruits (noticeable grapefruit), and plenty of hops. The hop is strong in this one. Dry hoppy, herbal finish. American Double / Imperial IPA-ish. Nice brew.
