COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The city and province of Utrecht has got a great history (and future) of brewing beer. It deserves a beer that shows our appreciation and what more could we do than make this Utrecht Strong Ale. Big hops dominate the aroma and big malts support them in taste. Put your hands up for Utrecht, we love that city!

Thanks bierkoning! Deep red-amber color, nice off-white/beige head, lace. Resiny hoppy, a bit malty aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish fruity, resiny hoppy flavor. Lingering fruity bitter aftertaste with light salty notes. Good malty backbone. Very good!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque amber with a creamy and lacing beige head. Perfumy hop aroma atop quite some caramel. Rich body, loads of sweet caramel and toffee malts - and then again loads of oddly perfumy hops. Has a bitterness that really grows towards the end. 161113

330ml bottle pours a cloudy pale amber color with a 2 finger white head that leaves some decent lacing behind. Aroma is grapefruit and dark fruits with some grains. Taste is a grapefruit hop bitterness with a grainy malt sweetness (barley wine like) and a herbal finish. Medium to heavy bodied with nice carbonation. A nicely done strong ale that I recommend to others.

Bottle courtesy of "hannont". Colour...cloudy amber with a thin head. Nose...yeasty with stone fruit, honey and beeswax with a pinch of spice. Palate...my goodness! This is a spritely one! Dry, fresh, irreverent and seething with anachronism. There’s mounds of fresh peach and ’cots and the yeasty bits, all of which make this a lovely brew.

Aroma: Sweet honey, brown sugar, pineapple. Appearance: Hazy red-amber with minimal head. Taste: Sweet honey and tropical fruits give an overwhelming sweetness. A hint of hot dank bitterness in the end. Palate: medium bodied with oily texture, medium carbonation and an astringent finish. Overall: Too sweet at one end and too musty at the other.
